  • This does not give you a blank check for leading
any trips at your approved level or below

10
Trip Submittal Process
  • Gary Schmidt
  • Boulder Group Outings
  • Committee Chair

11
Trip Submittal Process Step 1
  • Calls for trips twice a year (for publication)
  • You will receive an email or see notification of
trip submittal deadlines in GPS or Compass
  • February for Summer TT May-Oct Schedule
  • August for Winter TT Nov-Apr Schedule
  • Trips appearing on-line can be submitted at any
    time.
  • Research which trips you want to lead and when.
  • Should include trip name, date and a description.
  • There is a master trip database with a trip
description for common trips, so you only need to
include a description if you are doing something
    other than the ordinary. (Demo)

12
Submitting Trips (continued)
  • Send proposed trips to schedulers
  • Boulder Group Trip Schedulers
  • A/B trips Ruth Eastman
  • C/D/E trips Gary Schmidt
  • Rock climbs Chris Glascock
  • Ice climbs Andrew Halperin
  • Ski trips Patricia Butler
  • Denver Group Schedulers

  • It is also possible now to suggest trips
    yourself on-line. (Demo)

13
Trip Approvals Step 2 All Trips Require
Approval
  • C/D, rock, ice trips first go to BMS committee
    for approval technical aspects
  • Outings and safety review all trips (including
    those previously screened by BMS)
  • A trip may not be allowed if judged beyond the
    leader's qualifications
  • Anything questionable about trip, route, ability
of leader to lead that particular trip, permit or
access issues, exceptional risk/danger, etc may
result in the trip not being approved
  • Hint Getting a strong co-lead to commit for your
trip helps win approval on harder trips.

    activity schedule if approved before
