141.39 Aircraft.
  • Each aircraft used flight training and solo
    flights must
  • (a) Be registered as a civil aircraft in the
    United States
  • (b) Be certificated with a standard airworthiness
    certificate or a primary airworthiness
    certificate
  • (c) Be maintained and inspected according to the
    requirements under subpart E of part 91 of this
    chapter that apply to aircraft operated for hire

141.39 Aircraft. (continued)
  • (e) Each aircraft used in a course involving
    IFR en route operations and instrument approaches
    must be equipped and maintained for IFR
    operations. For training in the control and
    precision maneuvering of an aircraft by reference
    to instruments, the aircraft may be equipped as
    provided in the approved course of training.

141.75 Aircraft requirements.
  • The following items must be carried on each
    aircraft used for flight training and solo
    flights
  • (a) A pre-takeoff and pre-landing checklist
    and
  • (b) The operator's handbook for the aircraft,
    if one is furnished by the manufacturer, or
    copies of the handbook if furnished to each
    student using the aircraft.
  • NOTE This is in addition to the AFM or RFM
    required by 91.9(b).

141.89 Maintenance of personnel, facilities, and
equipment.
  • The school may not provide training unless
  • (a) Each aircraft necessary for that training
    meets the standards specified in the holder's
    approved training course outline and the
    appropriate requirements of this part.

141.93 Enrollment Events.
  • (a) Upon enrollment, the school must furnish a
    student with a copy of the following
  • (3) The safety procedures and practices
  • developed by the school
  • And that describe the operation of its aircraft.
  • Those procedures and practices shall include
    training on at least the following information--
  • (v) Aircraft discrepancies and approval for
    return-to-service determinations.

141.33 Personnel.
  • (a) A school must meet the following personnel
    requirements
  • (2) If the school employs dispatchers, aircraft
    handlers, and line and service personnel, then it
    must instruct those persons in the procedures and
    responsibilities of their employment.
