  Administration with specialization in Spatial
  Information Management (MPA-SIM)
• Faculty Affiliate at the National Center for
  Transportation Studies (NCTS), University of the
  Philippines
• Maintains GRASS mirror site in the Philippines

• Dissertation research on spatial microsimulation
  and small area statistics
• Research interest on urban modeling, land
  use-transport interaction, and spatial analysis

Objectives

• To provide participants with the necessary skills
  to employ a GIS in their statistical work and
• To let the participants recognize the important
  role of this technology in data generation,
  analysis and dissemination in the Philippine
  statistical system

• Demonstrate a sound understanding of the
  functions and components of GIS technology and
  its application in statistics
• Understand the basic concepts of mapping and
  spatial data representation
• Know the various methods in collecting, handing
  and processing spatial data
