Invitation to Open Information Evening in UCC,

Kerry, University College Cork Aim of Course This
one-year Course has been initiated to meet a need
for education and training in packaging for those
involved in either the supply or usage of
packaging materials in the food and drinks
industries. The aim of the Certificate in Food
Packaging Course is to give an understanding of
the fundamentals and main issues associated with
the packaging of foods in the ever changing
marketplace. Course Content The Course will be
held in UCC and will run on a part-time basis
throughout the academic year from October 2008 to
May 2009. Particular emphasis will be placed on
linking basic principles with the practical
application of these principles in industry.

• Food manufacturers and retailers needing to
  improve their technical knowledge of
  packaging materials.
• RD personnel working with new innovative and
  novel products.
• Marketing and sales personnel involved in
  bringing new product and new packaging
  concepts to the marketplace.
• Packaging manufacturers and suppliers seeking
  to improve their understanding of customer
  requirements.
