  • Background information
  • Stakeholder Day is part of Stakeholder
    Consultation
  • Outcome will be documented (note taker) and
considered for modifications of the MRG
  • - List of key messages
  • - List of key problems during implementation
  • - List of key proposals for modification
  • Revised Guideline expected to be adopted by the
    end of the year 2006

3
Overview
  • 9 questionnaires 7 from industry associations,
    2 from installations - and 2 position
    papers/other written comments received
  • Comments and suggestions on cross-cutting as well
as technical issues, specifically on simplified
    provisions for small installations

4
Comments I
  • Annex X was designed for fine ceramics and does
not reflect the specifics of coarse ceramics
    production
  • Accuracy is good, but needs to be balanced
    against cost-efficiency

5
Comments II
  • Most installations emit below 25.000 t CO2-equ.
per year. To allow for cost efficiency,
    provisions have to be simplified
  • Simplify monitoring requirements
  • Allow other means of quality assurance than EN
    ISO 17025 accreditation for labs
  • No third party involvement reg. emission reports

6
Comments III
  • Carbonate content of atomised clay mix is
constant. Therefore use of fix emission factor
per production unit for calculation should be
    introduced
  • Calculation methods for process emissions do not
include emissions from organic material in raw
clay and additives used to induce porosity
