- The teacher designs/plans instruction

Writing
- Submit two different, dated sample technical
writing pieces including the assignments with
students last names marked out. - Coordinate writing with the high school
- Participate in training in portfolio prompt
writing from a feeder high school of your choice - Develop a plan with the high school English
teacher for using writing pieces developed in
your classes for the students content piece in
their portfolios at the high school - Use word processing capabilities either in your
classroom or in a lab setting for students to
prepare their writing piecesthis will also apply
to standard 17E.
4Standard 2 Lesson/Unit PlansB. Open Response
- Include assessments/tests with two dated sample
open response questions with prompt, rubric, and
student answers with students last names marked
out. - Coordinate open response techniques with the high
school procedures. - Participate in training in open response
prompt/rubric writing from a feeder high school
of your choice. - Note The appropriate released KOSSA items may
be used.

of Academics within Technical Skills
- Develop unit/lesson plan documenting the
integration of academics within the technical
program. - Develop the assessment with a related academic
question. - Include the completed assessments from two
students. - Examples may be found in
- Interdisciplinary courses
- Math in CTE
6Standard 2 Lesson/Unit Plans D. Unit Plan
- Develop a unit plan for at least 5 days.
- Include instruction in safety, employability,
technical skills and problem solving. - Identify objectives, learning activities, tasks
covered, core content and resources. - Include accommodations for special populations.
- Develop evaluation procedures and assessment of
the unit/lesson. - Teach the unit.
- Complete the impact/reflection and refinement
sections of the plan. - Use the forms on the website.

technical piece for their portfolio. - Write an open response prompt with rubric.

9General Program Assessment Guidelines
- All documentation should be dated and reflect the
current evaluation period. - Documentation for all standards should be
included in the program documentation not in
the principals, counselors or advisors
offices. - When a lengthy document is presented, mark the
page(s) specific to the assessed program. - Two dated samples should be provided for such
items as writing pieces, open response, student
safety tests, and student evaluations of the
course.

- All documentation must relate to the program to
receive credit for the standard. - Identify the program teacher and/or student(s) in
the documentation. - The program website provides detailed
instructions and examples for all standards. - Items marked with an asterisk () do not require
documentation.

- Include only documents that are relevant to the
standard. - Purge all documents outside the assessment
period. - Read the instructions below the standard in the
17-stanard document. - Refer to the program assessment website for
detailed instructions, resources and examples for
all standards.

- When the program at one location has multiple
teachers, prepare only one set of documentation
for the program. Programs housed at satellite
locations are considered separate programs. The
documentation of the following standards is
required for all teachers - 01 Lesson schedule, master schedule and syllabi

lesson and unit plan - 04A Student recognition in the classroom/lab
- 07 Inclusion of all rooms
- 08 Inclusion of all rooms, safety tests and
