  • Any conduct that has the purpose of unreasonably
    interfering with an individuals work performance
    or creating an intimidating, hostile, or
    offensive working environment

Sexual misconduct
  • is behavior or conduct of a sexual nature that is
    unprofessional and/or inappropriate for the
    educational and working environment

Behaviors that may constitute sexual misconduct
include but are not limited to
  • Repeatedly engaging in sexually oriented
    conversations, comments or horseplay, including
    the use of language or the telling of jokes or
    anecdotes of a sexual nature in the workplace,
    office or classroom, even if such conduct is not
    objected to by those present.

Behaviors that may constitute sexual misconduct
include but are not limited to
  • Gratuitous use of sexually oriented materials not
    directly related to the subject matter of a
    class, course or meeting even if not objected to
    by those present.

include but are not limited to
  • Failure to observe the appropriate boundaries of
    the supervisor/subordinate or faculty/student
    relationship, including the participation of a
    supervisor, teacher, advisor or coach in an
    unreported consensual romantic or sexual
    relationship with a subordinate employee or
    student.

Tell Someone
  • There are a number of ways in which concerns or
    complaints related to sexual misconduct can be
    addressed
  • no student, faculty, staff member, or visitor is
    required to report or allege a violation of the
    sexual misconduct policy to the person who is the
    subject of the complaint.
  • Concerns will be kept confidential to the extent
    permitted under the law.

    your life - mental, emotional, physical,
    financial and social. Its not just about work.
  • Pro-active and aggressive stance on any of these
    issues

  • Studies suggest that anywhere between 40-70 of
    women and 10-20 of men have experienced sexual
    harassment in the workplace.
  • Approximately 15,000 sexual harassment cases are
    brought to the Equal Employment Opportunity
    Commission (EEOC) each year.

  • Write down everything that happens.
  • Keep track of the date and time.
  • If you get anything from the harasser in writing,
    save it.
  • Tell the harasser to stop
  • Make it clear that you find the behavior
    offensive.
  • If the harasser does not stop communicate to PD
