Probability
  • All probabilities are numbers between 0 and 1.
  • The sum of all possible outcomes have a
    probability value of 1.
  • The probability that an event does not occur is 1
    minus the probability that it will occur. This is
    called the complement. Ac.
  • If two events have no outcomes in common, the
    probability that one or the other occurs is the
    sum of their individual outcomes.

  • If the probability of me coloring my hair purple
    is .3021 and the probability of Laura wearing
    sneakers to school is .4302, then the probability
    of event A or event B is .7323.

  • Disjoint describes the situation where the fact
    that event A happens means that even B cannot
    happen.
  • Ex Event A snowing outside
  • Event B 97 degrees Fahrenheit outside.
