• 30 -50 of the oxygen we breathe is created by
  marine plants in the oceans
• We must take steps to protect those plants by
  taking care of our watersheds.

Example of Point Source Pollution Athos Oil Spill

• In November 2004 the Athos spilled 265,000
  gallons of crude oil into the Delaware River
  after hitting a submerged pipe.

• Almost everything that pollutes the land, like
  litter and motor oil, eventually pollutes the
  ocean due to point and non-point pollution.
• It is important to take care of the watershed for
  lots of reasons. What are some of them?
