Changing Fractions to Decimals

• A fraction is really already a decimal.
• If you read 0.3 you say three-tenths
• If you read 3/10 you say three-tenths
• They are just written in different formats.
• Changing a fraction to look like a decimal.
• Divide the numerator by the denominator.
• Example ¾ divide three by fouranswer 0.75

Decimal to Fraction

• Changing a decimal to look like a fraction.
• The numerator is the digits after the decimal.
• The denominator is whatever place the last number
  is in.
• Example 0.75
• 75 is the number in the numerator
• 5 is in the hundredths place, making the
  denominator 100
