Six Flags Over Texas

• 1)Spaniards first arrive in 1519 Pineda
  expedition followed by Cabeza de Vaca in 1528 and
  De Soto in 1539 and Coronado in 1540. Some
  exploration no settlements.
• 2)French arrive in 1685 La Salle establishes
  settlement, Fort St. Louis near Matagorda Bay.
• By the 1730s present day Texas was dominated by
  the Spanish.

• Mexico wins its independence from Spain in 1821.
