Fresh mango, pineapple, papaya, watermelon, any
fruit you want. For real ice cream, try limón
(sounds like lemon, means lime).
8
START A REVOLUTION
Or just visit the monument to El Pipila, the man
who kicked off the revolution by setting the
doors to the Spanish hideout on fire.
9
GET SOME NIGHT AIR
The colonial cobblestone streets of Guanajuato
are some of the most picturesque in all of
Mexico.
10
FIND LIVE MUSIC
These are the guitar cases of a flamenco band,
playing on a street corner in Playa del Carmen.

FOLLOW A PARADE
Every Friday and Saturday nights, bands of
strolling musicians take to the streets of
Guanajuato, leading bands of revelers on a
Callejoneada, or roving party.

GET ROMANTIC
This couple is watching the sun set over the
hills of Guanajuato.

LEARN TO READ
Decipher one of many well preserved Mayan
hieroglyphics carvings at Chichen Itza.

MAKE A WISH
Toss a peso or two in this courtyard well at the
center of the University at Mérida.
15
SMELL THE FLOWERS
This white starflower grows wild all over the
Yucatan peninsula, scattered like salt through
the jungle landscape.
16
WALK ON THE BEACH
On the edge of the Mayan Riviera, Tulum is a
haven for beachcombers, with silicon sand that
stays cool all day and crystal blue waters
crashing on the shore.
