Definition of Antenna Gain
Ideal Radiation Pattern of Non-Directional
Antenna (Isotropic Radiation)
How to increase gain?
Total radiation energy for total polarization
radiation
a(dB) ? Specific Direction Becomes Big
Theoretical limit at zero-loss condition
-a(dB) ? Other Direction Becomes Weak
The Theoretical Maximum Gain for Non-directional
Antenna is 0dBi
12
Developed Antenna
  • Ceramic Antenna is Small.
  • - Element Size 8 x 6 x 1 mm
  • - Ground Size 20 x 25 mm (Antenna A)
  • (Size of SD memory 24 x 32 mm)
  • Designed for RF tag application
  • ICs and components can be mounted on board.
Antenna needs at least one ground plane.

Conclusion
  • Proposed UWB Antenna meets requirements.
  • - Non-directional, Small, Robust, High Gain
  • - Flat Group Delay, Good Impulse Response
  • The Antenna Element can be used in the corner of
RF tag or module. ICs and components can be
mounted on board. There is less wasted space.
  • Proposed Filter has enough performance to avoid
    interference.
  • Accelerate Time to Market. The Antenna and
    Filters are Available Now.
