  to students bank account (through US Bank) or

• Youve already had your photo taken
• Youve updated your Mailing address on SIS Web
• Your SOU OneCard will be mailed out at the end
  of the month (Nov. 2004) to that address
• As soon as you receive your card you should logon
  to www.souone.com to choose how your refund will
  be processed
• Your card is activated

• I appreciate the direct deposit done by SOU
  Financial Aid and have found it to be very useful
  in my situation. I am only interested in speaking
  to FA for my financial needs, but not a person
  who may be in Texas or Connecticut.

• The paper trail for cutting checks is not looking
  good. I understand that a check from your new
  contracted vendor could take up to 14 days for my
  bank to approve.

  aid through another institution. That IS one more

  another person to see my confidential life? SOU
  is who I want to work with and they have done a
  superb job of helping me and supporting my needs.

  simple. Will it be this simple with a bank
  located on the east coast?

• I have always bragged about the efficient
  financial aid office here at SOU, I guess that
  this is now obsolete information. I see nothing
  but a new layer of bureaucratic red tape, longer
  waits for my money, higher fees for transactions,
  less security, and one more level of stress to
  deal with as I wait for my financial aid to be
  shipped to the East coast, and then back to here.

• It is my understanding that  financial aid money
  is being deposited directly into Higher One
  accounts without student consent.  Currently your
  financial aid  website specifies, it would seem
  incorrectly,  that  direct deposit is an option
  for each student.   Please think twice about
  taking away that option.

• Please let it be known that I have no interest in
  having a bank card from you, SOU or Higher One,
  whoever that may be. I will not pay any fees that
  you try to charge me. It is not okay that you are
  trying to coerce students into having bank cards
  through you, SOU or Higher One. This is designed
  to make more money off of those of us who are
  trying to get an education.

• Does everyone receive this new card or just those
  on financial aid? Why does it have a master card
  logo?

  card in order to receive my financial aid? Will
  this card be linked to the account that I have my
  aid deposited to? If this is the case what sort
  of security are you offering me? If somebody
  steals my ID can they spend all of my financial
  aid?
