Information on flowers

• There are two types of flowers
• flowering and non-flowering.
• In order for flowers to grow, they need
  plenty of
• sunlight, water, and good soil.
• Bees gather nectar from a flower and tiny
• grains of pollen stick to its hairy legs and
• body. When the bee flies to another flower
• for food, the pollen collected on its legs and
  body
• rub off to help fertilize the flower.

• When the flower is in full bloom, the petals do
  more than just smell good. The petals do provide
  a scent but they also help to protect the
  reproductive part of the flower.

Parts of a flower

• Corolla- All of the petals
• Petals- Provide scent and protects the
  reproductive part of the flower.
• Stigma- Captures pollen because it is sticky!
• Stamen- The male part of the flower.
• Pistil- The female part of the flower.

Why are petals important?

Biography

• My name is Katherine Sundberg and I am 21 years
  old. I was born and raised in a small town near
  Lake Michigan. I also have a love for animals. I
