Coupled Device) of main sensor chip
  • Frame shots- LCD Display as well as optical
    viewfinder
  • Storing Pictures - Reusable memory card or disc
  • Displaying pictures- Play back images quickly

4
RESOLUTION
  • One of the most important ratings of a digital
    camera
  • it is usually measured in the horizontal by
vertical resolution, as in "1,280 x 960" or like
3.2 megapixels" (meaning 3.2 million pixels).
  • The higher the resolution, the sharper the
    picture

5
LENS TYPE/ZOOM
  • Understanding of Optical Zoom and Digital Zoom-
Optical Zoom By Lens- Digital Zoom By
    Software
  • Dont be attracted digital zoom advertisement

6
STORAGE TYPE
  • Some cameras use storage formats that are on
their way off the market, such as SmartMedia,
    CompactFlash(CF), Secure Digital(SD), Sony Memory
    Stick.
  • CompactFlash card commonly used, because it comes
in the largest capacities and relatively cheap
    price.

7
EXPOSURE
  • The exposure setting in a camera is what
regulates how much light is used to create the
    image.
  • In automatical mode, the camera automatically
    detect the light.
  • In manual mode, you can handle exposure level by
aperture priority mode and shutter-speed priority
mode as well as full manual exposure mode. (to
    0.3 or 0.7)
  • Example

8
WHITE BALANCE
  • White balance is a name given to a system of
color correction to deal with differing lighting
    conditions.
  • Normally our eyes compensate for different
lighting conditions, but when taking a still with
a digital camera the camera has to find the
"white point" (the assumption that a white object
must appear white) to correct other colors cast
by the same light. (color temperature)
  • White Balance mode - Daylight, Cloudy,
    Fluorescent, Incandescent.

9
PHOTOGRAPHY SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES
  • Take pictures behind on the sun.- If you are
front on the sun, Turn on the forced flash mode.
  • Adjust exposure level that the surroundings are
    appropriate.(from 0.0 to 0.3 or 0.7)
  • Use the specific shooting mode - Many digital
cameras offer special modes that optimize the
camera settings for specific types of scenes.
landscape, portrait, twilight, and pan-focus are
among the most common scene modes
