The rebirth
  • The Renaissance was a rebirth of classical Greek
    and Roman thinking.
  • The power of the individual human was emphasized
    in Europe

Causes for the Renaissance
  • 1. Wealthy nobles and royalty became patrons for
    the arts
  • 2. Scholars shifted to humanism, or emphasis on
    what a human is capable of.

Famous Dudes
  • Petrarch- famous scholar and teacher
  • Machiavelli- wrote The Prince, that said rulers
    should only care about power.
  • Leo da Vinci- architect, engineer, painter, and
    sculptor

  • Michelangelo- brilliant painter who completed the
    Sistine Chapel.
  • Artists used Perspective to make pictures more
    lifelike.

Printing Press
  • Around 1450, Johannes Gutenberg of Germany,
    created a printing press using movable type.

    IDEAS POSSIBLE.
