PURPOSEOur purpose in the Ninth Grade Academy is
to promote a changed school environment with high
expectations and school pride.

TARDY POLICY
  • In the Ninth Grade Academy, each teacher will
    have a daily tardy log that students are to sign
    each time they are tardy, indicating name and
    time of arrival to class.
  • 1-2 tardies Sign Tardy Log
  • 3-4 tardies Parent contact
    w/concerns and 15

ATTENDANCE POLICY
  • Attendance in the Ninth Grade Academy is
    essential to the learning process and students
    are expected to attend school daily from 8 am
    310 pm. Teachers will post attendance for all
    classes daily. Excused absences are defined as
  • Illness
  • Death in Family
  • Religious Holiday
  • Extreme Weather Conditions
  • Service as Page in Legislature

DRESS CODE
  • The Ninth Grade Academy will enforce the wearing
    of pants at the waist line for all individuals.
    Young men and women will be expected to adhere to
    dress code guidelines as defined in the 2008-2009
    Code of Student Conduct page 6.
  • Pants will be worn at the waistline. 
  • Pants with loops must be worn with a buckled
    belt.
  • The length of skirts, dresses, or shorts should
    be no more than 3 inches above the knee. Skirts
    with high splits are prohibited!
  • Blouses and shirts that are midriffs, halter,
    tank top, and net/see-through are prohibited.
  • Hats may not be worn inside the school building.
    Hats should be placed in the student's locker for
    the day.
  • No language or logo that uses or infers
    profanity, obscenities, or degradation of a
    person or group will be allowed.
  • No item of clothing may be worn that infers the
    use of drugs or alcohol, weapons, or illegal
    substances. 
  • No bedroom slippers, flip-flops, or bedroom
    clothes (pajamas)

Electronic Cellular Devices
  • ECD Upon the arrival to school, all ECD (cell
    phones, ipods, mp3 players, cd players, etc.)
    must be powered off, stored, and not visible
    until the end of the school day. Any ECD that is
    visible or interrupts the learning environment
    may be confiscated and require a parent to pick
    up from an administrator at the end of the
    day/week.

  • A student whose behavior shows disrespect
  • for others, including interference with learning
  • and a safe environment will be subject to
