Transition Turmoil
  • Im a Christian why do I need to worry any
    shaking?
  • When the Holy Spirit touches me, Ill change.
(Until then?? Continue living life as I do?)
  • Should I only be motivated to live right when
    things are difficult?

3
Transition Turmoil
  • Whats the purpose of supernatural encounters and
    manifestations?
  • Isnt it bad to let people be frustrated about
    the promises of God?
  • Where is our security?
  • What about deception, offense, lawlessness?

4
Positioning Ourselves for the kingdom
  • Know the King and his ways
  • Its time for the church to mature

5
Positioned asNormal Christians
  • Knowing God
  • Listening to the Holy Spirit (know how to)
  • Walking in kingdom ways (know the word walk in
    accountability)
  • Laying down our lives responding to what the
Holy Spirit and the Word tell us

6
Positioned to hear, however it comes
  • Does it matter how?
  • Angel
  • Jesus
  • Cloud of witnesses
  • Physical appearance or in your spirit

7
Positioned to see
  • How do you see what God is doing?
  • Blessed are the pure in heart/Nathaniel
  • Biblical, unbiblical, or extra-biblical?
  • Supernatural build faith doesnt validate

8
Positioned byKnowing His Ways
  • The master commended the dishonest manager
because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of
this world are more shrewd in dealing with their
own kind than are the people of the light (are in
dealing with their kind). Luke 168

9
Positioned byKnowing His Ways
  • So they set the ark of God on a new cart, and
brought it out of the house of Abinadab... when
they came the threshing floor, Uzzah put out his
hand to the ark of God,... for the oxen
stumbled. Then the anger of the LORD was aroused
against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his
error... And David became angry...afraid of the
LORD and he said, How can the ark of the LORD
come to me?... 2 Samuel 62-13

10
Positioned byKnowing His Ways
  • David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom
the Gittite. Now it was told King David, saying,
The LORD has blessed the house of Obed-Edom....
So David went and brought up the ark of God...
And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the
LORD had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen
and fatted sheep. 2 Samuel 62-13

11
Positioned byKnowing His Ways
  • Then Moses said to the LORD, See, You say to
me,... I know you by name, and you have also
found grace in My sight. Now therefore, I pray,
if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now
Your way, that I may know You and that I may find
grace in Your sight. Exodus 3312-13

12
Positioned byKnowing Him
  • Now the LORD descended in the cloud,... and
proclaimed the name of the LORD,... The LORD,
the LORD God, merciful and gracious,
long-suffering, and abounding in goodness and
truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving
iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means
clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the
fathers upon the children and the childrens
children to the third and the fourth generation.
    Exodus 345-7

13
Need to know GodA. W. TOZER
  • No religion has ever been greater than its idea
of God. Worship is pure or base as the worshiper
entertains high or low thoughts of God. For this
reason, the greatest question before the church
is always God himself - what we in our deep heart
conceive God to be like. We tend by the secret
law of the soul to move toward our mental image
    of God.

14
Need to know GodA. W. Tozer
  • Almost every heresy that has afflicted the church
through the years has risen from believing about
God things that are not true, or from
overemphasizing certain true things so as to
obscure other things that are equally true.

15
God is different since the cross??
  • Does his love deny his justice?
  • Does his goodness contradict his holiness?
  • Does his compassion cancel his truth?
  • Does his sovereignty diminish his goodness and
    love?
  • Are the ancient ways obsolete?

16
Kingdom PositionCitizenship
  • We have it dont earn it
  • You have been Christians a long time now, ought
to be teaching others. Instead, you are like
babies who drink only milk. A person living on
milk isnt far along doesnt know about
righteousness. Solid food is for the mature, who
are trained to recognize the difference between
right wrong and then do what is right. Heb.
    512-14

17
Kingdom PositionPlace of the Ancient
  • Is ancient a positive or negative?
  • First (most ancient) declaration regarding the
rebuilding of the temple took preeminence over
    subsequent declarations Ezra 4-6

18
Kingdom PositionPlace of the Ancient
  • For if He were on earth, He would not be a
priest, since there are priests who offer the
gifts according to the law who serve the copy
and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was
divinely instructed when he was about to make the
tabernacle. For He said, See that you make all
things according to the pattern shown you on the
    mountain. Hebrews 84-5

19
Kingdom PositionPlace of the Ancient
  • Brethren, I speak in the manner of men Though it
is only a mans covenant, yet if it is confirmed,
no one annuls or adds to it. Now to Abraham and
his Seed (who is Christ) were the promises made .
And this I say, that the law, which was four
hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the
covenant that was confirmed before by God in
Christ, that it should make the promise of no
    effect. Galatians 315-17

20
Kingdom PositionPlace of the Ancient
  • Things that are ancient or happened before the
    foundation of the world
  • Land cant be sold always returns to the
original owner. Lev. 25-27 Psalms 24
  • Jesus slain before the foundation of the world.
    Revelation 138

21
Kingdom PositionPlace of the Ancient
  • You were chosen before that, your name was
written in the book of life and a book was
written about you. Eph. 14 Rev. 178 Psa.
    13916
  • Secrets of the kingdom kept secret. Matthew 1335

22
Kingdom Position Ancient Testament - Arbitrary?
  • We should serve in the newness of the Spirit and
not in the oldness of the letter. What shall we
say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! ... The
law is holy, and the commandment holy and just
and good. Has then what is good become death to
me? Certainly not! ... For we know that the law
is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.
    Romans 76-14

23
Kingdom position Ancient Testament - Outdated?
  • I did not come to destroy the Law or the
Prophets but to fulfill. Till heaven and earth
pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means
pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever
therefore breaks one of the least of these
commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called
least in the kingdom of heaven but whoever does
and teaches them, he shall be called great in the
    kingdom of heaven.

24
Kingdom Position Ancient Testament - Outdated?
  • The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses
seat. Therefore whatever they tell you to
observe, that observe and do, but do not do
according to their works for they say, and do
    not do. Matthew 232-3

25
Kingdom Position Ancient Testament - Outdated?
  • All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and
is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
    correction, for instruction in righteousness,
that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly
equipped for every good work. 2Timothy 316-17

26
Kingdom Position Ancient Testament - Difficult?
  • Letter of the Law versus the spirit of it
  • For I say to you, that unless your righteousness
exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and
Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom
    of heaven. Matthew 517-20

27
Kingdom PositionObedience brings stability
  • Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine,
and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who
built his house on the rock and the rain
descended, the floods came, and the winds blew
and beat on that house and it did not fall, for
it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears
these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will
be like a foolish man who built his house on the
    sand. Matthew 724-26

28
Kingdom Position obedience brings
revelation/habitation
  • He who has My commandments and keeps them, it
is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be
loved by My Father, and I will love him and
manifest Myself to him,... and We will come to
him and make Our home with him. He who does not
love Me does not keep My words. John 1421-24
