Getting Started with WebCT

• The URL is http//esuwebct.emporia.edu8900.
• If you receive a message that says proxy timeout,

Log On

• Click Log in to my WebCT.
• Type your username and password.
• If you do not know your username and password,
  please e-mail me.

Change Your Password

• Click the button labeled Password Settings.
• Change your password to something you will
  remember.
• Click Update Password.

Accessing the Course

• Notice that news for this course will generally
  appear below the course title.
• Click the course title to access the course.

• If you do not see this screen, please e-mail me.
• Please note that you will not see the tab marked
  designer options.

The Side Navigation

• The Side navigation is organized by weeks.
• Everything you need for week one is found below
  week 1.
• Sub Items are indent.
• Forum, Chat, Mail are the exceptions.
• Click Week 1 to begin.

Forum

• Forum is an discussion board.
• 2 postings are required/week.
• 1 posting should address the original question.
• 1 posting should be a response to anther post.
• Feel free to post additional messages in the
  Main forum.

Chat

• Participation in weekly chat sessions are
  required.
• Times and Dates for Chat Sessions are not yet
  determined.

• I will survey for best times and dates.
• All required chat sessions will be moderated by
  the instructor.
• Please refer to the Course Overview for Make Up
  Accommodations.

• Please use this internal mail system for most of
  your course communications.

Assignments

• The 3 Mini Projects are due on the Saturday of
  their assigned week.
• Late Projects will lose 1 letter grade per day.
• The Final Project is Due on the Wednesday before
  the last day of class.
• Please see the course overview for more
  information.
