Reimbursement Information

• Reimbursable Costs (General)
• Necessary network equipment, computer hardware
  and software, database equipment, PSAP 9-1-1 and
  telephone equipment
• Training operators related to wireless 9-1-1
• Network costs for the delivery of calls from a
  wireless provider to wireless PSAP
• Collection and maintenance of data used by the
  wireless PSAP, including data to identify a
  caller and a location of a caller.

• Relaying messages regarding wireless 9-1-1 calls
  via data communications from the designated PSAP
  to local call centers in operation before June 1,
  2003, that dispatch the appropriate emergency
  service providers (secondary PSAPs)
• Retroactive reimbursement
• Reimbursement available for costs primarily
  incurred by the applicant between Jan 1, 1999 and
  Sept 3, 2003 (see above reimbursable costs)

  wireless 9-1-1 calls or will not be reimbursed

• PSAP telephone equipment that also handles

• Computer-aided Dispatch (CAD) system
• Wireless 9-1-1 interface 100
• CAD software portion directly related to wireless
  9-1-1 operations

• Eligible for 100 reimbursement if
• Consistent with County modernization plans
• Conforms with standards
• Not duplicate Land Information collection efforts

• 100 for any non-recurring LEC charges during the
  surcharge period (example circuit installation
  costs)
• 100 for recurring LEC charges during the
  surcharge period (example circuit lease costs)

• Applications Due April 1, 2005
• Less than one week late 5 reduction
• Less than two weeks late 10 reduction
• Less than four weeks late 25 reduction
• More than four weeks late 100 reduction

Supplemental Grants

• Availability
• If two or more county PSAPs jointly operate a
  single wireless PSAP for those same counties,
  additional grant funding up to 50 of each
  countys individual wireless surcharge grant
  award is available.
• There is no restriction on what Supplemental
  Grant monies can be used to purchase.

  PSAPs to seriously consider applying for the
  Wireless surcharge funds to make Wireless 9-1-1
  services available to their residents
