Landsat QC service
  • To implement anomaly loop
  • report, investigation, recovery plan
  • To publish and maintain documentation for the
    user community
  • To monitor product quality
  • To support ESA, EOHelp, Eurimage, End-Users

5
Landsat QC History
Products orders - station rejects and EOQC
dispositions from August 2005 until February-2006
  • Investigations started on April, 17th 2001
  • QC operational phasestarted on August, 6th 2001
  • 63 months of activity 5 years

Landsat QC service
TM Product Recalibration Prototype
  • New algorithm proposed by USGS to improve
    calibration accuracy of TM products.
  • Actual method is validated to appreciate how it
    improves ESA product.
  • Radiometric comparison between Recalibrate ESA
pre-flight and USGS up to date calibration
    Prototype Calibration.
  • Radiometric comparison between USGS RAW product
and ESA RAW product (level 0).

10
DPQC SERVICES Product Performance
  • Based on multi date analysis focused on
    reference test site
  • Intends to monitor evolution of quality
    indicators for checking
  • if product quality remains compliant with initial
    specifications.
  • Quality indicators on results from image
    processing chain
  • in the fields of geometry (absolute geo-location,
    inner-geometry),radiometry calibration stability,
and image quality (saturation, noise, striping).
  • This activity may require ordering specific data.

11
A TPM integrated to DPQC service
  • Monthly Report should be aligned
  • Cyclic report should be done.
  • Use RT more systematically
  • DPQC Website should include information on TPMs

12
A TPM integrated to DPQC service ACTIONS for a
better QOS
  • Ground stations.
  • To use RT tool
  • To inform about archive state
  • To inform about generation problems
  • Link between Task 2 and Task 4
  • To inform about processor maintenance
  • To validate any kind of processor updates
  • DPQC Website, ENVISAT and the others missions?
Add TPM specificities Users can access Landsat QC
    results
  • Encompass TPM specificities

13
Third Party Missions specificities
  • Only one person is planned for EOO/EOX tasks
  • But numerous interface
  • No information about Platform/Instrument health
    is deduced.
  • Communication with Processor Manufacturer and
Foreign Agency is not contractual but should be
    maintain, it is crucial !!!
