    1983 in the aftermath of the first oil crisis.
  • 80-90 (public) donor funded, 10-20 World Bank

  • About 100 projects, for 25-30million of
    commitments

Impact ESMAP Technical Paper
  • September 12-14, 2005, ESMAP,USAID, Cities
    Alliance, EDF, IADB and COELBA cosponsored a
    workshop entitled Meeting the Energy Needs of
    the Urban Poor The Case of Electrification.,
    Salvador da Bahia, Brazil.
  • The richness of the material generated from the
    workshop led to the decision to issue an
    analytical document instead of standard
    proceedings.
