Stolen Hymn Verses
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all
wisdom teaching and admonishing one another in
psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing
with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 316
While some of us Bible-Believing hymn-singing
folks get upset at the new contemporary hymnals,
we need to realize that we also have been having
changes made right under own noses - in our own
Baptist hymnals.
Complete stanzas, verses, words and even
punctuations have been altered!
3
Some of the deletions dealt with false or off
doctrine, which is a good reason to omit them,
but many dealt with good doctrine it is only
too obvious that todays thievin crowd of
scholars certainly doesn't want to have any
good doctrine being sung in our Bible Believing
churches.
The following slides show a few examples of
verses, words, etc. even entire solid doctrinal
songs that have been taken out or altered in many
of our new hymnbooks.
Go to your hymnal and put them back in.  Stop
the voice of that stranger from speaking in
your church through the hymns that we cherish and
sing.
You may even want to purchase your own hymn book
and make these corrections for the next years for
your family to keep with your KJB!
4
The following are a few corrections that I have
made from a few hymn books that I have seen.
The yellow lettering shows what I have put back
into the hymn.

Onward Christian Soldiers
5. Crowns and throne may perish, kingdoms rise
and wane, But the Church of Jesus constant will
remain. Gates of Hell can never 'gainst the
Church prevail We have Christ's own promise,
and that can not fail.
6. What the saints established, that I hold for
true. What the saints believed, that believe I
too. Long as earth endureth, men that faith will
hold Kingdoms, nations, empires, in destruction
rolled.

Standing on the Promises
Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let his praises ring
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God. Refrain
Standing, standing, standing on the promises of
Christ my Saviour Standing,
standing, I'm standing on the promises of God.
Standing on the promises I cannot fall, Listening
every moment to the Spirit's call,
Resting
in my Saviour as my all in all, Standing on the
promises of God. Refrain
Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear
assail, By the living Word of God I shall
prevail, Standing on the promises of God.
Refrain
Standing on the promises
I now can see

Perfect, present cleansing in the
blood for me.

Standing in the liberty where Christ
makes you free,
Standing on the promises
of God. Refrain
Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to him eternally by love's strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword,
Standing on the promises of God. Refrain

Just As I Am (Just as I Was)
Just as I was, without one plea,But that Thy
blood was shed for me,And that Thou bidst me
come to Thee,O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I was, Thou wilt receive,Wilt welcome,
pardon, cleanse, relieveBecause Thy promise I
believe,O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I was, and waiting notTo rid my soul of
one dark blot,To Thee whose blood can cleanse
each spot,O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, Thy love I ownHath broken every
barrier downNow, to be Thine, yea, Thine
alone,O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I was, though tossed aboutWith many a
conflict, many a doubt,Fightings and fears
within, without,O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, of that free loveThe fulness and
the depth to prove,Here for a season, then
above,O Lamb of God, I come, I come!
Just as I was, poor, wretched, blindSight,
riches, healing of the mind,Yea, all I need in
Thee to find,O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
8
Oh, How I Love Jesus
Jesus! The Name we love so well, the name we
love to hear! No saint on earth its worth can
tell, no heart conceive so dear.
This name shall shed its fragrance still along
life's thorny road, Shall sweetly smooth the
rugged hill that leads us up to God.
And there the whole triumphant throng of
blood-bought saints on high,
Shall sing the new eternal
song with Jesus ever nigh.
9
And Can It Be
And can it be that I should gain An
interest in the Saviour's blood! Died
he for me? - who caused his pain! For me? who him
to death pursued? Amazing love! How can it be
That thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Long my imprisoned spirit lay, Fast
bound in sin and nature's night Thine eye
diffused a quickening ray I woke, the
dungeon flamed with light My chains fell off, my
heart was free, I rose, went forth, and
followed thee.
Tis mystery all thImmortal diesWho can
explore His strange design? In vain the firstborn
seraph triesTo sound the depths of love
divine.Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,Let
angel minds inquire no more.
No condemnation now I dread Jesus, and all
in him, is mine Alive in him, my
living Head, And clothed in
righteousness divine, Bold I approach th' eternal
throne, And claim the crown,
Through Christ my own.
He left His Fathers throne aboveSo free, so
infinite His graceEmptied Himself of all but
love,And bled for Adams helpless raceTis
mercy all, immense and free,For O my God, it
found out me!
10
Faith of Our Fathers
Extended on a cursed tree, Besmeared with dust,
and sweat, and blood. See there, the King of
glory see! Sinks and expires the Son of God!
My Saviour, how shall I proclaim, How pay the
mighty debt I owe? Let all I have, and all I am,
Ceaseless to all thy glory show.
I, I alone, have done the deed! 'Tis I thy
sacred flesh have torn My sins have caused
thee, Lord, to bleed, Pointed the nail, and
fixed the thorn.
Too much to thee I cannot give, Too much I
cannot do for thee Let all thy love and all thy
grief Graven on my heart for ever be!
The burden, for me to sustain Too great, on
thee, my Lord, was laid To heal me, thou hast
borne my pain To bless me, thou a curse wast
made.
11
When I See the Blood
Christ our Redeemer died on the cross, Died for
the sinner, paid all his due Sprinkle your soul
with the blood of the
Lamb Yes, He will pass, will pass over you!
Judgment is coming, all will be there, Each one
receiving justly his due Hid in the saving
sin-cleansing blood Then God will pass, will
pass over you.
Chiefest of sinners, Jesus will save, All He has
promised, so will He do Wash in the fountain
opened for sin Then He will pass, will pass over
you.
Oh, what compassion, oh, boundless love! Oh
loving kindness, faithful and true Find peace
and shelter under the blood Oh, He will pass,
will pass over you.
12
The Old Account Was Settled
3.  When at the judgment bar, I stand before my
King And He the book will open, He can not find
a thing Then will my heart be glad, while tears
of joy will flow Because I had it settled, and
settled long ago.
5.  O sinner seek the Lord, repent of all your
sin For thus He hath commanded, if you would
enter in And then if you should live a hundred
years below, Up there you'll not regret it, you
settled long ago.
13
Redeemed How I Love to Proclaim It
Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!Redeemed by
the blood of the LambRedeemed through His
infinite mercy,His child and forever I am.
I think of my blessèd Redeemer,I think of Him
all the day longI sing, for I cannot be
silentHis love is the theme of my song.
Refrain Redeemed, redeemed,Redeemed by the
blood of the LambRedeemed, redeemed,His child
and forever I am.
I know I shall see in His beauty The King
in whose law I delight Who lovingly guardeth
my footsteps, And giveth me songs in the
night,
Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus,No language my
rapture can tellI know that the light of His
presenceWith me doth continually dwell.
I know theres a crown that is waiting,In yonder
bright mansion for me,And soon, with the spirits
made perfect,At home with the Lord I shall be.
14
Saviour, Like A Shepherd Lead Us
God has said, "Forever blessed those who seek me
in their youth They shall find the path of
wisdom, and the narrow way of truth." Guide us,
Saviour, guide us, Saviour in the narrow way of
truth. Guide us, Saviour, guide us, Saviour in
the narrow way of truth.
Be our strength, for we are weakness be our
wisdom and our guide. May we walk in love and
meekness, nearer to our Saviour's side. Naught
can harm us, naught can harm us - while we thus
in thee abide. Naught can harm us, naught can
harm us - while we thus in thee abide.
15
Am I A Soldier of the Cross
Am I a soldier of the cross,A follower of the
Lamb,And shall I fear to own His cause,Or blush
to speak His Name?
Sure I must fight if I would reignIncrease my
courage, Lord.Ill bear the toil, endure the
pain,Supported by Thy Word.
Must I be carried to the skiesOn flowery beds of
ease,While others fought to win the prize,And
sailed through bloody seas?
Thy saints in all this glorious warShall
conquer, though they dieThey see the triumph
from afar,By faiths discerning eye
When that illustrious day shall rise,And all Thy
armies shineIn robes of victory through
skies,The glory shall be Thine.
Are there no foes for me to face?Must I not stem
the flood? Is this vile world a friend to
grace,To help me on to God?
I'm not ashamed to own my Lord, Or to defend His
cause Maintain the honor of His Word, The
glory of His cross.
16
Amazing Grace
Amazing grace! How sweet the soundThat saved a
wretch like me!I once was lost, but now am
foundWas blind, but now I see.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,And
mortal life shall cease,I shall possess, within
the veil,A life of joy and peace.
Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,And
grace my fears relievedHow precious did that
grace appearThe hour I first believed.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,The sun
forbear to shineBut God, Who called me here
below,Shall be forever mine.
Through many dangers, toils and snares,I have
already comeTis grace hath brought me safe
thus far,And grace will lead me home.
When weve been there ten thousand years,Bright
shining as the sun,Weve no less days to sing
Gods praiseThan when wed first begun.
The Lord has promised good to me,His Word my
hope securesHe will my Shield and Portion
be,As long as life endures.
17
How Firm a Foundation
2. In every condition, in sickness, in
healthIn povertys vale, or abounding in
wealthAt home and abroad, on the land, on the
sea,As thy days may demand, shall thy strength
ever be.
6. Even down to old age all My people shall
proveMy sovereign, eternal, unchangeable
loveAnd when hoary hairs shall their temples
adorn,Like lambs they shall still in My bosom be
borne.
7. The soul that on Jesus has leaned for
repose,I will not, I will not desert to its
foesThat soul, though all hell should endeavor
to shake,Ill never, no never, no never forsake.
18
The Sands of Time
The sands of time are sinking, the dawn of heaven
breaks, The summer morn I've sighed for,
the fair sweet morn awakes Dark, dark has been
the midnight, but dayspring is at hand, And
glory-glory dwelleth in Immanuel's land.
Oh! Well it is for ever, Oh! well for evermore
My nest hung in no forest, of all this
death-doomed shore Yea, let the vain world
vanish, as from the ship the strand, While
glory-glory dwelleth in Immanuel's land.
There the Red Rose of Sharon unfolds its
heartsome bloom And fills the air of heaven
with ravishing perfume Oh! To behold Its
blossom, while by Its fragrance fann'd Where
glory-glory dwelleth in Immanuel's land.
The King there In His beauty, without a veil is
seen It were a well spent journey, though seven
deaths lay between The Lamb, with His fair
army, Doth on Mount Zion stand, And glory-glory
dwelleth in Immanuel's land.
19
The Sands of Time
Oh! Christ He Is the fountain, the deep sweet
well of love! The streams on earth I've tasted,
more deep I'll drink above There, to an ocean
fulness, His mercy doth expand, And glory-glory
dwelleth in Immanuel's land.
Oft in yon sea-beat prison my Lord an I held
tryst, For Anwoth was not heaven, and preaching
was not Christ And aye, my murkiest storm-cloud
was by a rainbow spann'd, Caught from the glory
dwelling in Immanuel's land.
But that he built a Heaven of His surpassing
love, A little New Jerusalem, like to the one
above, "Lord take me o'er the water," had been
my loud demand, Take me to love's own country,
unto Immanuel's land.
But flow'rs need night's cool darkness, the
moonlight and the dew So Christ, from one who
loved it, His shining oft wlthdrew And then,
for cause of absence my troubled soul I scann'd,
But glory shadeless, shineth in Immanuel's land.
20
The Sands of Time
The little birds of Anwoth, I used to count them
blest, Now, beside happier altars I go to build
my nest O'er these there broods no silence, no
graves around them stand, For glory, deathless,
dwelleth in Immanuel's land.
Fair Anworth, by the Solway, to me thou still art
dear, E'en from the verge of heaven, I drop for
thee a tear. Oh! If one from Anwoth meet me at
God's right hand, My Heaven will be two Heavens,
in Immanuel's land.
I've wrestled on towards heaven gainst storm,
and wind and tide' Now like a weary traveler
that leaneth on his Guide, Amid the shades of
evening, while sinks life's lingering sand, I
hall the glory dawning from Immanuel's land.
Deep waters cross'd life's pathway, the hedge of
thorns was sharp Now, these lie all behind me,
Oh! For a well tuned harp! Oh! to join
Hallelujah with yon triumphant band, Who sing,
where glory dwelleth, in Immanuel's land.
21
The Sands of Time
With mercy and with judgment my web of time He
wove, And aye, the dews of sorrow were lustred
with His love I'll bless the hand that guided,
I'll bless the hand that plann'd When throned
where glory dwelleth in Immanuel's land.
Soon shall the cup of glory wash down earth's
bitt'rest woes, Soon shall the desert briar
break into Eden's rose The curse shall change
to blessing the Name on earth that's bann'd Be
graven on white stone in Immanuel's land.
Oh! I am my Beloved's, and my Beloved's mine! He
brings a poor vile sinner into His "house of
wine" I stand upon His merit, I know no other
stand, Not e'en where glory dwelleth in
Immanuel's land.
The bride eyes not her garment, but her dear
bridegroom's face, I will not gaze at glory, but
on my King of Grace Not at the crown He giveth,
but on His pierced hand The Lamb Is all the
glory of Immanuel's land.
22
The Sands of Time
I have borne scorn and hatred, I have borne wrong
and shame, Earth's proud ones have reproach'd
or Christ's thrice-blessed name Where God His
seal set fairest They've stampt their foulest
brand, But Judgment shines like noonday In
Immanuel's land.
They've summoned me before them but there I may
not come, My Lord says "Come up hither",  my
Lord says "Welcome home!" My kingly King, at His
white throne, my presence doth command, Where
glory-glory dwelleth in Immanuel's land.
23
Soldiers of Christ, Arise!
Soldiers of Christ, arise and put your armour on,
Strong in the strength which God supplies thro'
His eternal Son. Strong in the Lord of Hosts and
in His mighty pow'r, Who in the strength of
Jesus trust is more than conqueror.
Stand then in His great might, with all his
strength endued But take, to arm you for the
fight, the panoply of God That, having all
things done and all your conflicts passed, Ye
may o'er-come thro' Christ alone and stand entire
at last.
Pray without ceasing pray, your Captain gives the
word His summons cheerfully obey and call upon
the Lord. To God your' ev'ry want in instant
prayer display, Pray always, pray and never
faint pray, without ceasing pray!
24
Soldiers of Christ, Arise!
In fellowship alone, to God with faith draw near
Approach His courts, besiege His throne with all
the pow'rs of prayer. Go to His temple, go, nor
from his altar move Let' ev'ry house His
worship know and ev'ry heart His love.
Pour out your souls to God, and bow them with
your knees And spread your hearts and hands
abroad and pray for Zion's peace. Your guides
and brethren bear forever on your mind Extend
the arms of might prayer in grasping all mankind.
From strength to strength go on, wrestle and
fight and pray Tread all the powers of darkness
down and win the well fought day. Still let the
Sprit cry in all His soldiers "Come!" Till
Christ the Lord descends from high and takes the
conquerors home.
25
Soldiers of Christ, Arise!
Jesus, my strength, my hope, on Thee I cast my
care, With humble confidence look up, and know
Thou hear'st my prayer. Give me on thee to wait
till I can all things do On ever standing on
its guard and watching unto prayer.
I want a godly fear a quick discerning eye That
looks to Thee when sin is near and sees the
tempter fly A spirit still prepared and armed
with jealous care, Forever standing on its guard
and watching unto prayer.
I want a true regard, a single, steady aim,
Unmoved by threat'ning or reward, to Thee and
Thy great name A jealous, just concern for
Thine immortal praise A pure desire that all
may learn and glorify thy grace.
26
Soldiers of Christ, Arise!
I rest upon Thy word the promise is for me My
comfort and salvation, Lord, shall surely come
from Thee. But let me still abide, nor from my
hope remove. Till thou my patient spirit guide
into thy perfect love.
Leave no unguarded place, no weakness of the
soul, Take every virtue,
every grace and fortify the whole.
From strength to strength go on, wrestle
and fight and pray, tread all the
powrs of darkness down, and win the well-fought
day.
27
Arise! My Soul
Arise, my soul, arise! Shake off thy guilty
fears. The bleeding Sacrifice in my behalf
appears. Before the throne my Surety stands
Before the throne my Surety stands, My
name is written on His hands.
He ever lives above For me to intercede His all
redeeming love His precious blood to plead. His
blood atoned for all our race,
His blood atoned for all our race, And
sprinkles now the throne of grace.
Five bleeding wounds He bears, Received on
Calvary They pour effectual prayers, they
strongly plead for me. "Forgive him, O forgive,"
they cry "Forgive
him, O forgive," they cry "Nor let that
ransomed sinner die."
28
Arise! My Soul
The Father hears Him pray, His dear Anointed One
He cannot turn away, The presence of His Son.
His Spirit answers to the blood,
His Spirit answers to the blood,
And tells me I am born of God.
My God is reconciled His pard'ning voice I hear.
He owns me for His child I can no longer fear.
With confidence I now draw nigh,
with confidence I now draw nigh, And,
"Father, Abba, Father," cry.
Ye ransomed sinners, hear, The pris'ners of the
Lord And wait till Christ appear According to
His word. Rejoice in hope, rejoice with me
Rejoice in
hope, rejoice with me We shall from all our
sins be free.
29
Arise! My Soul
In God we put our trust If we our sins confess.
Faithful He is, and just, From all
unrighteousness. To cleanse us all, both you and
me To cleanse us
all, both you and me We shall from all our sins
be free.
Surely in us is hope Of glory shall appear
Sinners, your heads lift up And see Redemption
near. Again I say, rejoice with me
Again I say, rejoice
with me We shall from all our sins be free.
The Word of God is sure, And never can remove
We shall in heart be pure And perfected in love.
Rejoice in hope, rejoice with me,
Rejoice in hope, rejoice with me
We shall from all our sins be free.
30
Arise! My Soul
Then let us gladly bring Our sacrifice of praise
Let us give thanks and sing And glory in His
grace. Rejoice in hope, rejoice with me
Rejoice in hope, rejoice with
me. We shall from all our sins be free.
Blow ye the trumpet blow!  The gladly solemn
sound Let all the nations know To earth's
remotest bound. The year of jubilee is come!
The
year of jubilee is come! Return, ye ransomed
sinners, home.
Jesus, our great high priest, hath full atonement
made. Ye weary spirits, rest Ye mournful souls,
be glad. The year of jubilee is come!
The year of
jubilee is come! Return, ye ransomed sinners,
home.
31
Arise! My Soul
Extol the Lamb of God, The all atoning Lamb
Redemption in His blood, Throughout the world
proclaim. The year of jubilee is come!  The year
of jubilee is come! Return, ye ransomed sinners,
home.
The gospel trumpet hear, The news of heaven'ly
grace And, saved from earth, appear Before your
Saviour's face. The year of jubilee is come!
The
year of jubilee is come! Return, ye ransomed
sinners, home.
32
These were just a few examples, I am sure but
be aware, our hymns have been tinkered
with. Have you ever noticed any false doctrine
in the hymns that ARE in our songbooks? Maybe
some day I will put some of those examples
together, as well. But for now just be aware
our song books are not inspired by God nor are
they part of the Psalm 126,7 promise all of
which is geared to the words of God. So keep a
wary eye as you sing make sure you are singing
the truth and not a lie! Its all about singing
from, to and about God not whether or not we
like the music or the flavour of the words
even if they are changed to our liking.
