Aims of the scheme
  • The NERC KT Call is designed to be a flexible
    scheme to enable the transfer of knowledge,
    people, skills and expertise between the NERC
    research base and its user communities, in
    particular
  • To assist the transfer of knowledge between the
    research base and the user community
  • To enable the formation of communities made up of
    the research base and users of research outcomes.
    This allows the exchange of ideas, knowledge,
    needs and requirements, and may generate new
    research directions where appropriate
  • To facilitate the training of people in the user
    community in techniques that have previously been
    retained within the research base
  • To allow the transfer of people between the
    research base and user organisations.

Funding for the Focus Group
  • 3 years of funding for
  • Dedicated Facilitator/Translator
  • Knowledge Exchange Workshops
  • Regular network meetings
  • Training programmes
  • Secondments/exchanges/placements
  • An advisory/consultancy service to support the
    user community
  • A service providing reports, horizon scanning and
    policy reviews
  • Publications for industries, the content and
    format defined by industry
  • Cross-industry nitrous oxide training, including
    secondments/exchanges between the university and
    industry.
  • Sustainability will be considered for Years 4
    onwards
