The Church Centers Around the Cross
(Acts 2028) Take heed therefore unto
yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which
the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed
the church of God, which he hath purchased with
his own blood. If you can be saved outside the
Church, then you can be saved without the Blood
of Christ!
(Eph 122-23) And hath put all things under his
feet, and gave him to be the head over all things
to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of
him that filleth all in all.
(Eph 523) For the husband is the head of the
wife, even as Christ is the head of the church
and he is the saviour of the body.
(1 Cor 118) For the preaching of the cross is
to them that perish foolishness but unto us
which are saved it is the power of God.
(1 Tim 314-15) These things write I unto thee,
hoping to come unto thee shortly But if I tarry
long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to
behave thyself in the house of God, which is the
church of the living God, the pillar and ground
of the truth.
  • The blood shed on the cross purchased the church
  • The head of the church is the One that died on
    the cross
  • That which is preached by the church is the
Gospel which grew out of the cross

  • (Eph 17) In whom we have redemption through his
blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the
    riches of his grace.
  • (Eph 216) And that he might reconcile both unto
God in one body by the cross, having slain the
    enmity thereby.

  • How are we saved by the blood?
  • Christs blood was shed in his death
  • We are baptized into his death!
  • It is there that we reach the blood, and sins are
    forgiven!
  • Then we become part of the blood-bought church of
    Christ

(Rom 63-4) Know ye not, that so many of us as
were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized
into his death? Therefore we are buried with him
by baptism into death that like as Christ was
raised up from the dead by the glory of the
Father, even so we also should walk in newness of
life.
(Acts 2216) And now why tarriest thou? arise,
and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling
on the name of the Lord.
(Acts 241) Then they that gladly received his
word were baptized and the same day there were
added unto them about three thousand souls.
(Acts 247) the Lord added to the church daily
such as should be saved.

  • (1 Cor 1124-26) And when he had given thanks,
he brake it, and said, Take, eat this is my
body, which is broken for you this do in
remembrance of me. After the same manner also he
took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This
cup is the new testament in my blood this do ye,
as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For
as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this
cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

  • (1 Cor 1128-29) But let a man examine himself,
and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of
that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh
unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to
himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
  • The Lords Supper is a Sacred Supper!

Separation of Gods CovenantsCenter Around the
Cross
  • The Law of Moses Died when Jesus Died on the
    Cross
  • (Col 214) Blotting out the handwriting of
ordinances that was against us, which was
contrary to us, and took it out of the way,
    nailing it to his cross
  • The Law of Moses was Only Temporary
  • (Gal 319) Wherefore then serveth the law? It
was added because of transgressions, till the
seed should come to whom the promise was made
and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a
    mediator.

  • Impossible to have both testaments in effect at
    the same time.
  • (Heb 916-17) For where a testament is, there
must also of necessity be the death of the
testator. For a testament is of force after men
are dead otherwise it is of no strength at all
    while the testator liveth.

  • It is a better covenant
  • (Heb 86-7) But now hath he obtained a more
excellent ministry, by how much also he is the
mediator of a better covenant, which was
established upon better promises. For if that
first covenant had been faultless, then should no
place have been sought for the second.

  • Today we MUST hear Jesus!
  • (Matt 71-5)
  • (Heb 11-2) God, who at sundry times and in
divers manners spake in time past unto the
fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days
spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed
heir of all things, by whom also he made the
    worlds

  • Jesus died for our sins
  • (1 Cor 153) For I delivered unto you first of
all that which I also received, how that Christ
died for our sins according to the scriptures
  • He was the Lamb of God that took away the sin of
    the world
  • (John 129) The next day John seeth Jesus coming
unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God,
which taketh away the sin of the world.

  • We become free from sin when we obey that form of
    Doctrine
  • (Rom 617-18) But God be thanked, that ye were
the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the
heart that form of doctrine which was delivered
you. Being then made free from sin, ye became
    the servants of righteousness.

  • The Doctrine is the death, burial, and
    resurrection of Jesus Christ
  • (1 Cor 151-4) Moreover, brethren, I declare
unto you the gospel which I preached unto you,
which also ye have received, and wherein ye
stand By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in
memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have
believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first
of all that which I also received, how that
Christ died for our sins according to the
scriptures And that he was buried, and that he
rose again the third day according to the
    scriptures

  • (Rom 63-4) Know ye not, that so many of us as

by baptism into death that like as Christ was
