Activity 1Questions to Ask Yourself About the
Payout Process
  • The purpose of this activity is to spark thought
    about how to begin planning for payouts.
  • Find the Questions to Ask Yourself document
  • Take 20-30 minutes to respond to the questions
    with your teams, or individually, to begin
    thinking about the payout process.

Activity 2Involving Stakeholders in Payout
Planning and Implementation
  • The purpose of this activity is to identify
    critical pieces of information that various
    stakeholder groups need in order to effectively
    implement payouts.
  • Divide into groups of seven (7).
  • Identify the following and write on chart paper
  • What does the stakeholder need to know or be
    aware of in terms of the payout process?
  • What activities will the stakeholder be
    responsible for or be involved in during the
    payout process?

  • Each group read through their stakeholder list
  • Why did you included specific items and
    activities?
  • Does anyone have additional items or activities
    that were not included?

Activity 3Creating a Payout Timeline
  • The purpose of this activity is to create a
    timeline that includes the stakeholder activities
    identified in the last activity, in addition to
    relevant grant timelines.
  • Write down each critical activity for your
    stakeholder on a separate piece of colored paper.
  • Place the activities on the wall in sequential
    order within given time periods to create a
    timeline.

Activity 4Creating a Payout Communication Plan
  • The purpose of this activity is to create a
    communication plan to ensure ongoing
    communication amongst all stakeholders to
    complete timeline activities accurately and on
    time.
  • Review sample communication plan.
  • Take approximately 10 minutes to fill out the
    blank communication plan to craft a plan for your
    district.

Activity 5 Creating Your Districts Payout
Timeline
  • The purpose of this activity is to create a
    timeline specific to your districts context and
    D.A.T.E./TEEG grant.
  • Review sample timeline.
  • Use the blank timeline and take approximately 15
    minutes to begin crafting your districts payout
    timeline.
  • Identify two or three specific challenges or
    dilemmas they anticipate with the payout process

Activity 6Consultancy Activity
  • The purpose of this session is to work through a
    consultancy activity with colleagues from other
    districts.
  • This activity will allow districts to share ideas
    and best practices related to the payout process.

Consultancy Activity
  • Purpose
  • A Consultancy is a structured process for helping
    an individual or a team think more expansively
    about a particular, concrete dilemma related to
    D.A.T.E. program implementation.

Consultancy Activity Roles
  • Presenter Individual who presents the dilemma.
  • Consultancy Individuals who discuss the
    Presenters dilemma.
  • Group
  • Facilitator A member of the Consultancy Group
    that participates but also keeps the group
    discussion moving and on target.
  • Timekeeper Keeps the group moving on time
    through each step of the activity.

  • Step 1 Presenter will give an overview of the
    challenge or dilemma

    you need to take when you return to your
    district?
  • Are there any new or lingering questions you
    have? If so, what are they? What is your plan for
    finding answers?
  • Evaluation forms--please be specific on the types
    of additional technical assistance you would like
    to have.
