Basic text
  • Keep the background colour plain
  • Do not use graded or textured backgrounds (
    stay away from Wizard ! )
  • A good background colour, for contrast
    clarity and reduced eye strain is deep blue

  • Font size
  • At least 24 point bold for body text
  • 36 point for headings or captions
  • A recommended serif type face is
  • Times New Roman
  • White or yellow letters show up well against a
    deep blue background

  • You can have main text in white and use yellow to
    emphasise a word or phrase
  • Italic can have the same effect
  • So can slide transitions but dont make your
    audience dizzy !

  • Have one idea or theme on the screen at any one
    time
  • Use seven words to a line and seven lines on
    the screen
  • Use minimum line thickness of 1 mm

  • Non-verbal communication
  • ( Your body language)
  • Can your audience hear and see you clearly
  • Try not to walk in front of the screen please
  • You have had spell check on havn't you ?
  • Last but certainly not least
  • Rehearse, Rehearse, Rehearse, its the secret
    to a good presentation ( you do know what is
    going to happen when you click the mouse button
    dont you ?)

Bar graphs are more effective that tables of
numbers
  • If information is figures or percentages remember
    bar chart or.

Pie charts are great for percentages
  • .pie charts are much more effective.

    presentation using a PC the result can look a lot
    different when projected
