    concentration difficulties, exaggerated startle
    response , symptoms intensified by symbolic events

  • manmade disasters (plane crashes)
  • childhood physical and sexual abuse

  • 1 in 4 (or 1in 3) women
  • 1 in 7 (or 1in 4) men
  • Presenting symptoms
  • depression, sexual problems, interpersonal
    problems, alcoholism, suicide attempts,
    self-mutilation, intrusive recollections,
    nightmares, panic attacks, etc.
