Effects of Beaver Dam on Streams Other Animals
  • A Day as a Beaver
  • We were interested in how a beaver dam affects
the course of the river. To satisfy our
curiosity, we walked down the stream and found 8
beaver dams. Then, we also built a beaver dam to
    directly witness its effects.

What effects do the beavers activity have on
other animals?

Stream Chemistry and Wildlife
  • Why are there different tadpoles in the same pool
    of water?
  • I realized that the species of frogs are
together, but different because the mothers use
the other species eggs to hide their eggs for
    safety.
  • Does a difference in pH, conductivity, or water
temperature make a difference to where stream
    fauna live?
  • We discovered that the tadpoles and minnows dont
live together because the tadpoles like it hot
and shallow and the minnows prefer cool, deep
    water.
