Title: The ABCs of Mobile Learning Impact

1
The ABCs of Mobile Learning Impact ROI
2
Situation
  • Current store level education methods can only
    measure employee participation through payroll
hours, not their learning or knowledge transfer
    of the materials.
  • Paper based training materials cost millions to
design and develop, while the consistency of
delivery is dependent on the competency of the
    store manager.
  • Leveraging e-Learning as a development tool is no
longer a nice to have, but is a key component of
    Best at Talent organizations
  • An average of 38 of learning content is being
    delivered via technology among corporate
respondents, 42 in organizations with 10,000
    employees
  • 2006 Survey of Retail Industry learning
    priorities identified learning technologies/Infras
tructure as the 1 priority. Rational for this
    ranking included
  • Measuring impact of learning and effectiveness
  • Redefining learning costs and improving
    efficiencies
  • Integration with corporate systems and knowledge
    hubs
  • E-Learning is being used by retailers like JC
Penney, Sephora, J Crew, Apple, Best Buy and La
Senza. Benchmarking with these companies has
demonstrated that e-Learning drives both positive
    talent results, and increased operational/sales
    productivity.

the delivery of associate training via technology
at the store level. The vehicle for this test
will be the 80G Apple iPod Classic.
