10Impact
- children are not only gaining musical skills and
appreciation but improved concentration and group
working skills leading to improvements in
behaviour, confidence and self-esteem have all
been noted - key skills such as numeracy, literacy and motor
skills have been incorporated into music tuition - the YMI is having an impact on all four areas of
the Curriculum for Excellence - YMI particularly offers advantages for pupils
with SEN, pupils who are less well behaved and
pupils who do not excel in other subject areas
