In recent years, technology has been integrated
into the classroom more and more to aid in
learning. It offers alternative options for
students and teachers. However, all of these
options are not available to all schools and
students.

For the classrooms which are able to incorporate
technology, here are two great ways to do so

• Simple drill and practice programs
• Comprehensive Integrated Learning Systems

For classrooms which cannot incorporate as much
technology, there are other options such as

• Share software between classrooms
• Use other educational tools that are not
  computer-generated
• Example Flashcards could substitute drill and
  practice

Pros of Technology in Primary Grades

• Studies show that 11 of students who learn on
  computers achieved higher academic status
• Studies also show that students using computers
  have better discipline because it encourages
  self-control and following directions

• At the same time, studies show that it can
  enhance peer relations by working together

Cons of Technology in Primary Grades

• Limits students activity levels because they use
  the computer for extended periods of time instead
  of being physically active
• Teacher control can be limited because it is more
  difficult to monitor students behavior when
  using computers

  hands-on activities rather than by technology
  based activities
• Using an excessive amount of technology can lead
  to teaching above the students developmental age
