Biographical Information

• In what is now Yugoslavia, a baby girl named
  Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu was born on August 27 1910.
  When she was twelve she attended a Roman Catholic
  Elementary, and records that she knew she had a
  job in helping the poor. She trained for
  missionary work and three years later she made
  India her choice. She won a number of awards. In
  1979 she won the Pope John XXIII peace prize. In
  1972 the Nehru Prize for promotion of peace
  through the world. And in 1979 she won the Balzan
  prize for promoting peace and brotherhood among
  the nations.

Building Peace .

• When Teresa was twelve she knew she would get a
  job in peace. She joined the sisters of Loreto an
  Irish community of nuns with a mission of
  Calcutta. In India in 1928 she became an
  official. She noticed a lot of suffering so she
  got permission to leave her school and work for
  the poor. Even though she had no funds she opened
  up a school for the homeless. On October 7th 1950
  she got permission to start her own order called
  The Missionaries Of Charity which was made to
  love and care for poor people. Mother Teresas
  order spread over the poorest parts of the world
  like in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

We Believe Mother Teresa is a Peace Hero Because

We all believe that Mother Teresa is a peace
hero because she was influenced to help the
poor. She made her own order and used her own
time to keep the poor healthy and educated. She
also became a nun which is a peaceful, religious
person. And all in her own time . She thought of
others and not always herself.
