Executive Officers Safety Training
  • Purpose
  • Comply with Marine Corps policy concerning the
    number 2 Marine in the chain of command of any
    unit as it relates to safety.
  • To increase the level of expertise among the XOs
    throughout the MFR
  • Provide better support for the collateral duty
    safety managers.

  • Force wide program intended for all 220 units
    within the Force.
  • Two courses slated for this year with the option
    for a third.
  • 2 ½ day training syllabus covering all aspects of
    ground safety.
  • Funding established for TAD by MFR.

  • The current deployment status of many units.
  • Logistics involved in bringing in attendees from
    all over the US.
  • Successes
  • First class attended by 35 Marines
  • Ranks ranging from O-6 to MSgt

Status of the 10th ESB Tasker List
  • MFR tasked with developing a draft of a MCO
    concerning the Annual Safety Qualification
    Program
  • The proposed draft is included in the folders.
  • The draft was staffed to the Major Subordinate
    Commands for comment.
  • The worksheet was subjected to multiple field
    tests to determine if it was workable.
  • In addition, the draft was presented at the last
    XO conference for discussion as well.

Status of Tasker List (contd)
  • Next possible steps.
  • Hand over the working document to HQMC (SD) for
    further review and staffing.
  • Publish a final draft for the review of the
    operating forces.
  • Publish the order.
