  budget of 640M for 25 state prisons, 6 private
  prisons and parole/community corrections
  programs.

• Needed a tool that could track tremendous amount
  of people and dollars.
• Provide an overview of prison operations, but
  also allow drill-down to individual inmate
  activities (average of 42,000 incidents per
  year).
• The Strategy
• Use WebFOCUS to generate financial reporting, but
  also track inmate behavior, as well as report on
  inmate health issues and facility trends.
• The Results
• Single tool lowers total cost of ownership (lower
  SW, HW, maintenance, training, support costs).
• Self-service reporting for 6000 users helps
  business users make better informed decisions and
  stream-lines work-flow of incident reporting
• Directors are able to better manage their
  institutions see trends, summary information
