Exercise OneThis exercise invited the residents
to identify what the priorities are for their own
road, neighbourhood and Gosport. Once the
residents identified their priorities they were
invited to suggest ways in which they could be
dealt with. This exercise provides the residents
an opportunity to share their concerns, not only
about crime but quality of life issues, such as
noise, littering and parking. The exercise
generates discussion over how problems can be
overcome using various agencies.
  • 1. What are the groups priorities for their own
    road, neighbourhood and Gosport?
  • 2. In respect of the top 3 priorities, how could
or should these priority problems be addressed by
the police and partner agencies ?

16
Exercise TwoThe residents were invited to
prioritise the following crimes. This exercise
helps the police to understand what is important
to the residents and can help to influence local
policing priorities.
  • In groups, prioritise the following crimes?
  • Assault
  • Drug Supply
  • Sex Offences
  • Shoplifting
  • Anti Social Behaviour

whether residents opinions and priorities change,
once they are aware of the crime that has been
