UNIT CONVERSION
Covers the conversion factors for working in
consistent Units, and by so doing reducing
errors when converting other units to SI. Since
preparing this section the Author has
acquired the following publication- SCIENTIFIC
UNIT CONVERSION by Francois Cardarelli.
Published by Springer. ISBN 3-540-76022-9. This
publication provides a comprehensive reference
to- British (Imperial) MTS, MKpS, Cgs. Gauss,
IEUS, American,FPS,Ancient Obsolete units.
5
SYMBOLS,GREEK ALPHABET,ABREVIATIONS
To avoid the Biblical Tower of Babel
syndrome, a concerted effort has been made to
ensure that the units used throughout the work
are consistent. The author would be pleased to
receive comments on any deviation from this
ideal. The requirements of CEN TC156.WG1 and ISO
standards have been used.
6
PHYSICAL CONSTANTS
The essential physical constants encountered in
the field of Industrial Ventilation are
considered. The author would be pleased for
suggestion on further additions.
7
DIMENSIONLESS NUMBERS
The common dimensionless numbers encountered in
the Industrial Ventilation field are
considered. These are expressed as equations,
symbol form and definitions.
8
GLOSSARY
This technical dictionary, deals with the
definitions covered in the various chapters.
Also included are many other definitions
encountered in the field of Industrial
Ventilation As new terminology is always
evolving, this section is under constant
review. Full use has been made of CEN terminology
in the field of Ventilation CEN TC.156.
9
NATIONAL BODIES
A comprehensive list of the acronyms given to the
numerous National and International
bodies involved with Ventilation is
considered. Since publication new bodies have
been formed, these will be included in the second
edition. A Bibliography of some of the
associated standards is included
