Dry Bones Whole House of Israel
Yechezqel/Ezekiel 37 11-13 (ISR) And He said to
me, Son of man, these bones are all the house of
Yisrael. See, they say, Our bones are dry, our
expectancy has perished, and we ourselves have
been cut off! 12 Therefore prophesy, and you
shall say to them, Thus said the Master YHWH,
See, O My people, I am opening your graves, and
shall bring you up from your graves, and shall
bring you into the land of Yisrael. 13 And you
shall know that I am YHWH, when I open your
graves, O My people, and bring you up from your
graves. 14 And I shall put My Spirit in you, and
you shall live, and I shall settle you in your
own land. And you shall know that I YHWH have
spoken, and I have done it, declares YHWH.
10
Dry Bones Whole House of Israel
  • Key Points/questions
  • Both Houses are dry bones until Spirit revives
them. Rashi, Rabbi Shlomo ben Yitchaki (1040
1105 CE), one of the most respected of the
    rabbinic commentators within Orthodox Judaism,
    agrees, saying
  • these bones are all the house of Israel They are
an intimation and an example of the entire house
of Israel in their exile, for they say, Our
bones have become dried up from the troubles our
hope is lost, and what further hope can we have
    for salvation?

11
Dry Bones Whole House of Israel
Ezekiel 3711 (NASB) Then He said to me, "Son of
man, these bones are the whole house of Israel
behold, they say, 'Our bones are dried up and our
hope has perished. We are completely cut off.
  • Key Points/questions
  • Seems to transition from
  • just Northern Kingdom to
  • the Whole House of Israel.
  • Theme Resurrection and Return

12
House of Yisrael, I Shall Gather You
Yechezqel/Ezekiel 36 22-24 (ISR) 22 Therefore
say to the house of Yisrael, Thus said the
Master YHWH, I do not do this for your sake, O
house of Yisrael, but for My set-apart Names
sake, which you have profaned among the gentiles
wherever you went. 23 And I shall set apart My
great Name, which has been profaned among the
gentiles, which you have profaned in their midst.
And the gentiles shall know that I am YHWH,
declares the Master YHWH, when I am set-apart in
you before their eyes. 24 And I shall take you
from among the gentiles, and I shall gather you
out of all lands, and I shall bring you into your
own land.
13
My Spirit Within You
Yechezqez/Ezekiel 36 25-28 (ISR) 25And I shall
sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be
clean from all your filthiness and from all
your idols I cleanse you. 26 And I shall give
you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.
And I shall take the heart of stone out of your
flesh, and I shall give you a heart of flesh, 27
and put My Spirit within you. And I shall cause
you to walk in My laws and guard My right-rulings
and shall do them. 28 And you shall dwell in the
land that I gave to your fathers. And you shall
be My people, and I shall be your Elohim.
14
Comments on Yechezqel 3622-28
  • Key Points/questions
  • Spoken to the House of Israel, the Northern
Kingdom Israel shall dwell in the Land of their
    fathers.
  • YHWHs Name has been profaned by the House of
    Israel among the nations.
  • The nations will know that YHWH is YHWH when
YHWH regathers the House of Israel from where
    they are scattered.
  • This regathering of the House of Israel is
characterized by replacing a heart of stone with
a heart of flesh, placing YHWHs Set Apart
inside, the Spirit literally causing obedience to
    Yahs own chuqqim and mishpatim.
  • Question Is it possible for Yahs Spirit to
dwell inside someone and tell them to disregard
    Yahs laws and right-rulings?

15
The Two Stick (Tree) Prophecy
Yechezqel/Ezekiel 3715-17 (ISR) 15 And the word
of YHWH came to me, saying, 16 And you, son of
man, take a stick for yourself and write on it,
For Yehudah and for the children of Yisrael,
his companions. Then take another stick and
write on it, For Yoseph, the stick of Ephrayim,
and for all the house of Yisrael, his
companions. 17 Then bring them together for
yourself into one stick, and they shall become
one in your hand.
  • Key Points/questions
  • The Two Trees/Sticks become
  • One Tree/Stick (again) in the hand of YHWH.
  • This is a key passage of prophetic Scripture
that has not come to pass. We know it has not
happened yet because of the explanation of the
prophecy given in the verses that follow.

16
YHWH Explains the Prophecy (Slide 1 of 3)
Yechezqel/Ezekiel 3718-21 (ISR) 18 And when the
children of your people speak to you, saying,
Wont you show us what you mean by these? 19
say to them, Thus said the Master YHWH, See, I
am taking the stick of Yoseph, which is in the
hand of Ephrayim, and the tribes of Yisrael, his
companions. And I shall give them unto him, with
the stick of Yehudah, and make them one stick,
and they shall be one in My hand. 20 And the
sticks on which you write shall be in your hand
before their eyes. 21 And speak to them, Thus
said the Master YHWH, See, I am taking the
children of Yisrael from among the gentiles,
wherever they have gone, and shall gather them
from all around, and I shall bring them into
their land.
17
YHWH Explains the Prophecy (Slide 2 of 3)
Yechezqel/Ezekiel 3722-24 (ISR) 22 And I shall
make them one nation in the land, on the
mountains of Yisrael. And one sovereign shall be
sovereign over them all, and let them no longer
be two nations, and let them no longer be divided
into two reigns. 23 And they shall no longer
defile themselves with their idols, nor with
their disgusting matters, nor with any of their
transgressions. And I shall save them from all
their dwelling places in which they have sinned,
and I shall cleanse them. And they shall be My
people, and I be their Elohim, 24 while Dawid My
servant is sovereign over them. And they shall
all have one shepherd and walk in My
right-rulings and guard My laws, and shall do
them.
18
YHWH Explains the Prophecy (Slide 3 of 3)
Yechezqel/Ezekiel 3725-28 (ISR) 25 And they
shall dwell in the land that I have given to
Yaaqob My servant, where your fathers dwelt. And
they shall dwell in it, they and their children
and their childrens children, forever, and My
servant Dawid be their prince forever. 26 And I
shall make a covenant of peace with them an
everlasting covenant it is with them. And I shall
place them and increase them, and shall place My
set-apart place in their midst, forever. 27 And
My Dwelling Place shall be over them. And I shall
be their Elohim, and they shall be My people. 28
And the gentiles shall know that I, YHWH, am
setting Yisrael apart, when My set-apart place
is in their midst forever.

Comments on Yahs Explanation(1 of 2)
  • Key Points/questions
  • This needs little additional comment other than
to say that these prophecies have never come to
    pass to this day.
  • YHWH will take the Children of Israel, wherever
they have been scattered, and bring them into
    their own land.
  • There will be a everlasting Covenant of Peace,
which was previously prophesied in Yechezqel 34
and also by Yeshayahu/Isaiah (Chapter 54).

20

Comments on Yahs Explanation(2 of 2)
  • Key Points/questions
  • They will be One Nation, with One King.
  • According to the text, the King will be David.
In some places in the Aramaic Targummim (plural
of Targum) the Aramaic translation with
commentary on the Tanach, where the Hebrew text
says David, the Aramaic text says Messiah, Son
    of David, e.g. Yirmeyahu/Jeremiah 309 and
Hoshea/Hosea 45. It does not appear here in
Yechezqel, but probably should be interpreted as
such in order to be consistent with these other
    texts.

21
The Greater Exodus (Slide 1 of 2)
Yirmeyahu/Jeremiah 1614-17 (ISR) 14 Therefore
see, the days are coming, declares YHWH, when
it is no longer said, YHWH lives who brought up
the children of Yisrael from the land of
Mitsrayim, 15 but, YHWH lives who brought up
the children of Yisrael from the land of the
north and from all the lands where He had driven
them. For I shall bring them back into their
land I gave to their fathers. 16 See, I am
sending for many fishermen, declares YHWH, and
they shall fish them. And after that I shall send
for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from
every mountain and every hill, and out of the
holes of the rocks. 17 For My eyes are on all
their ways they have not been hidden from My
face, nor has their crookedness been hidden from
My eyes.
22
The Greater Exodus (Slide 1 of 2)
Yirmeyahu/Jeremiah 1618-21 (ISR) 18 And first I
shall repay double for their crookedness and
their sin, because they have defiled My land with
the dead bodies of their disgusting matters, and
have filled My inheritance with their
abominations. 19 O YHWH, my strength and my
stronghold and my refuge, in the day of distress
the gentiles shall come to You from the ends of
the earth and say, Our fathers have inherited
only falsehood, futility, and there is no value
in them. 20 Would a man make mighty ones for
himself, which are not mighty ones? 21 Therefore
see, I am causing them to know, this time I cause
them to know My hand and My might. And they shall
know that My Name is YHWH!
23

Comments on The Greater Exodus(2 of 2)
  • Key Points/questions
  • This Exodus is not the return of Judah from
Babylon in the days of Ezra and Nechemiah, since
the Scripture also says from all the lands
where YHWH had driven them, and when Judah was
ever in distress, the nations never flocked to
Judah to say Our fathers have inherited lies.
  • There is a Greater Exodus that will dwarf the
Exodus from Egypt, and it still is a future
    prophetic event.

News Item Application of the Torah
25
News Item
  • Birkat HaChama (???? ????, "Blessing of the
Sun") refers to a Jewish Blessing that is recited
in appreciation of the Sun once every 28 years,
when the vernal equinox, as calculated by
tradition, falls on the third day of the week at
sundown. Jewish tradition says that when the Sun
completes this cycle, it has returned to its
position when the world was created.

26
News Item
  • According to Judaism, the Sun has a 28 year solar
cycle known as machzor gadol (????? ????, "the
great cycle"). A solar year is estimated as
365.25 days and the "Blessing of the Sun", being
said at the beginning of this cycle, is therefore
recited every 10,227 (28 times 365.25) days. The
last time that it was recited was on April 8,
2009 (14 Nisan 5769 on the Hebrew calendar,
coinciding with the day before the Jewish Holiday
    of Passover.

27
News Item
  • The text of the blessing itself is as follows
  • ???? ??? ?' ?????? ??? ????? ???? ???? ??????
  • "Blessed are You, HASHEM, our God, King of the
Universe who makes the works of Creation."

News Item
  • Does the idea of Birkat HaChamah support this
    passage?
  • Shemot/Exodus 122 "This month shall be the
beginning of months for you it is to be the
first month of the year to you.

From Seven Festivals of the Messiahby Eddie
Chumney
  • Rosh HaShanah marks the Jewish New Year and is a
part of the season of repentance. Rosh in Hebrew
means "chief or head" and shanah means "year."
Rosh HaShanah is the head of the year on the
civil calendar, and is also known as the birthday
of the world since the world was created on this
    day (Talmud, Rosh Hashanah 11a).
  • Jewish tradition believes that Adam was created
on this day (Mishnah, San Hedrin 38b). How did
they decide that this was the day of the year the
world was created? Because the first words of the
Book of Genesis (Bereishit), "in the beginning,"
when changed around, read, Aleph b'Tishrei, or
"on the first of Tishrei." Therefore, Rosh
HaShanah is known as the birthday of the world,
for tradition tells us that the world was created
    then.

30
From Seven Festivals of the Messiahby Eddie
Chumney
  • Note There are four new years in the Jewish
calendar. Nisan 1 is the New Year's day of kings
(the date for determining how many years a king
has ruled) and for months (Nisan is the first
month). Elul 1 is the new year for the tithing of
animals. Shevat 15 (Tu Bishvat) is the new year
for the trees, and Tishrei 1 is the new year of
years. It also marks the anniversary of the
    creation of the world.

31
End of 7 Year Period in the 7th Month
  • Devarim 3110-11 (ISR Scriptures) And Mosheh
commanded them, saying, At the end of seven
years, at the appointed time, the year of
release, at the Festival of Booths, 11 when all
Yisrael comes to appear before ????  your Elohim
in the place which He chooses, read this Torah
before all Yisrael in their hearing.

32
Jubilee Year begins in the 7th Month
  • Vayiqra/Leviticus 259-10 (NASB) 9 'You shall
then sound a ram's horn abroad on the tenth day
of the seventh month on the day of atonement you
shall sound a horn all through your land. 10
'You shall thus consecrate the fiftieth year and
proclaim a release through the land to all its
inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, and
each of you shall return to his own property, and
each of you shall return to his family.

33
News Item
  • If Aviv is the first month of the year for you,
why is the 7 year year of release cycle and the
Jubilee year counted from the seventh month?
  • Is there really more than one new year on the
    Biblical calendar?

this is how you are to bless the people of
