NSPS Training - Background
  • FY 2004 NDAA mandates training prior to
    implementation
  • Army centrally funds NSPS training
  • Over 260,000 Army managers, supervisors and
    civilian employees must be trained
  • includes military supervisors of civilian
    employees
  • NSPS implementation began with Armys Civilian
    Human Resources Agency (CHRA) on 30 April 06

Role of the Transition
Manager
  • Key role in successful delivery of NSPS training
  • Partner with Commanders, managers and HR
    community to deliver NSPS training
  • Promote core competency training early on
  • Enlist commander and senior manager support and
    involvement in briefings and training
  • Recruit managers as trainers
  • Work with Regional HRDs and/or CPACs to identify
    trainers, secure training rooms and establish
    training schedules
  • Share NSPS information with workforce
  • Discuss issues and concerns with CPAC Chiefs/CHRA
    Regional Directors/CHRA TMD staff

The Way Ahead
  • Incorporate NSPS into all Army HR training
  • Revise training plans to reflect schedule changes
  • Ongoing tracking of employee information critical
  • Continue to retrain/update trainers
  • Continue to market competency training
