Transitioning to GEO Upon Termination of Current
Employment
  • All active non-management staff, excluding
    security positions, will be offered employment
    with GEO at their current rate of pay.
  • All non-DOC security staff will be provided an
    opportunity to apply for employment.
  • All active management personnel will be
    interviewed by GEO Management Team and considered
    for existing positions or other roles.
  • GEO will reimburse employees for COBRA expenses
    for the month of July. Employees must apply for
    COBRA and GEO will reimburse them.
  • GEO employee benefits will begin August 1st,
    2006.
  • In the event of a lawsuit regarding the
    non-compete agreement of the present vendor, GEO
    will provide the defense for its employees.

Employment at GEO
  • All employment offers will include a ninety (90)
    day probationary period.
  • Existing employee background checks will be
    revalidated by GEO background checks and drug
    screening post-employment.
  • All transitioning employees will be provided a
    beginning balance of six (6) sick days or
    forty-eight (48) hours.
  • All future employees will be provided GEO
    Employee Handbooks specific to FCCC no later than
    June 30th, 2006.

Our Timetable
  • June 14, 2006 GEO Transition Team begins the
    on-site preliminary preparations to assume the
    management of the FCCC.
  • June 15-17, 2006 Group/individual employee
    processing meetings will be conducted.
  • July 1, 2006 GEO will begin managing FCCC and
    Florida Department of Corrections will manage the
    security operations.

Will There BeEmployment Screening?
  • Background investigation of all GEO employees is
    contractually required by DCF within first 90
    days of employment
  • Drug Alcohol Check
  • All applicants for employment are required to
    undergo screenings to detect the presence of
    illegal drugs and alcohol
  • Applicants who test positive for illegal drugs or
    alcohol, or fail to clear background
    investigation, will not be allowed to continue
    employment
  • Requirements US citizen or lawful resident high
    school diploma or GED valid social security card
  • Employee health screenings will be required for
    continued employment
