Assignment
  • The goal of this project is to create an
    informational poster about the Monarch
    Butterflies and their migration.
  • All posters must be turned in on Thursday the
    8th, to be presented and graded!!

The poster
  • The poster should have more than 6 pictures and
    should be visually eye-catching.
  • There should be more than six images (pictures,
    maps, diagrams, etc.)
  • The presentation should be neat, organized and
    original/creative.

Poster (cont.)
  • The poster should provide information about the
    Monarch Butterflies (life cycle, what they eat,
    etc.)
  • Also, their migration to Mexico (for example
    when? Why? From where? To where? Etc.)
  • You may also want to include interesting facts
    that you found.
  • This poster and the information that it contains
    will be the basis for your oral presentation

Oral Presentations
  • The majority of your grade will come from your
    presentation of the information about Monarch
    Butterflies. Presentation should be 6 minutes (2
    min per group member).
  • You will be graded on the following
  • Complete and well structured sentences with
    appropriate vocabulary
  • Presentation skills
  • Fluency
  • Pronunciation

  • Grading Criteria Structure and Vocab
  • Student is able to speak using appropriate
    tenses. Makes little or no grammar mistakes. The
    vocabulary is very appropriate and representative
    of the presentation. The student shows that he or
    she has a good use of words.

Grading Criteria Presentation Skills
  • Student makes good eye contact and has good
    facial expressions uses good gestures or action
    to deliver the presentation and changes the pitch
    and tone of voice in a confident manner

Grading Criteria Fluency and Pronunciation
  • Student speaks fluently using interesting and
    specific language. Supports ideas with details
    and examples.
  • Student pronounces the words appropriately all
    the time.

  • The information is complete and there are very
    few mistakes. There are more than six images and
    the presentation is neat, organized and original.
