Title: In the west end musical of Blood Brothers there is a narrator in it.
1Introduction
- In the west end musical of Blood Brothers there
is a narrator in it. - He is very mysterious and hardly ever intervenes
with the characters. -
- He is the thoughts of the characters.
- This PowerPoint will be all about him
2Our Narrator
- In most stories a narrator tells the audience
more about the play. - Our one does that but he also represents more
and says more as if he were an actor.
3Role of the Narrator
The narrator adds scary effects as well as more
atmosphere by singing along in all the songs. He
represents superstition, he can also represent
the devil. His actions affect the mood of the
play and he is a more important character than
meets the eye.
4What Is The Narrator In The Play?
- The narrator to us is a bit of a Godly figure.
- He tells the audience the story, "So. Did you
hear the story of the Johnstone twins? As like
each other as two new pins?" - He is always watching over the characters but
hardly ever intervenes.
5- The narrator is a very mysterious character in
the way that he is always watching over Mickey
and Edward, always in different places of the
stage. - Its as if though Mrs Lyons and Mrs Johnston know
hes there because he was the only witness apart
from them that saw the deal and he also has quite
a bit more contact with those two characters than
Mickey and Ed.
6- You could also say that he was playing the
superstitious side of the two mothers because of
his song. Every time they were in doubt or
superstitious he would sing the song like he was
in there mind.
7- He pressurises Mrs Lyons and Mrs Johnstone into
making sudden decisions which they learn to
regret. As the narrator says, Of one womb born,
one the self same day, how one was kept and one
given away.
Mrs Lyons
Mrs J
8- He adds moods effects to the play and his actions
can dramatically how the audience feel about a
certain event - His dressing is very formal and again makes the
mood more serious in the play he looks very
professional - He also tells the audience a bit about what is
going on in the play at that time if he had not
been the play would have been more difficult to
understand
9He was also a character in the play when he was
asked by Mickey to take a picture of Mickey,
Linda and Edward together. He holds onto the
camera thoughtfully as if he knows what will
happen
- This gives him a superiority over the other
characters as if he knows what will happen and is
taking in the happy moment before everything goes
wrong.
10Conclusion
In conclusion we believe that the narrator is a
mysterious figure, always there as the backbone
of the play and always knowing what happens The
narrator appears as the most important character
in the play, he knows no one, but knows everyone
