• They are illegal to hunt but harvested world wide
  for food industry
• Harvested for their shells for ornaments

• They play huge rolls in two ecosystems-oceans and
  beaches/dunes
• If they would become extinct the sea grass on the
  sea floor would
• become unhealthy which would
• lead to a decline or loss of marine
• life
• When one part of and ecosystem
• is los the other is too.

• The decline in sea turtles has consequences with
  the ecosystem

What Would Happen if They Went Extinct?

• The whole food chain would be messed up
• The food chain would have to be reassembled

Our Opinion

• If people wouldnt eat them there would be more
  sea turtles
• People shouldn't destroy their eggs
• There are laws protecting the sea turtles, but
  more needs to be done.

Fun Facts

• Sea Turtles, lay about 150-200 eggs, depending on
  the turtles species.
• The Moche people of ancient Peru worshiped the
  sea turtles.
• The temperatures in sand determine the sex of the
  turtle. Scientists say that global warming could
  take an effect on this.
