Project Goals
  • Research distal protection filters and determine
    which features provide the best protection.
  • Incorporate the best features into our redesign
    while adding new ones.
  • Build the prototype.
  • Test the prototype in a flow loop system that
    simulates the carotid arterial circulation.
  • Determine the efficiency of the redesign in
    capturing particles similar in size to embolic
    debris.
