STUDENTS ACTION RESEARCH TOPICS
13
Why Students Can not Read By Yulia Kovler.
14
  • A major problem that repeats itself in the
classroom is difficulty in reading English words
and decoding them. Students lack the skills of
combining the letters, sounds, spelling and most
importantly, understanding or decoding the needed
    information.
  • This issue is a crucial one, for it is the basis
for further realization and success in the learnt
    material and in future life.

15
Using Games in the EFL Classroom By Michal
Bari
16
  • Games are motivating and effective tools in
learning because they sustain pupils interest
and allow teachers to create contexts in which
the language is useful and meaningful. The Action
Research deals with innovative methods for
integrating games in the EFL classroom.

17
Homework By Vardit Nakash
18
  • Lack of motivation regarding homework is a
    problematic issue.
  • Innovative, motivational planning and
implementation of homework tasks allows for
    improvement in pupils learning.

19
Test Anxiety By Ahlam Sarsour.
20
  • Many students are afraid of taking tests, which
has a negative effect on their test results and
    emotional well-being. After analyzing and
researching causes for test anxiety, several
methods were developed to deal with and hopefully
    eliminate the problem.

21
Using Songs in the EFL Classroom By Safa
Hassouna and Ira Polyakov
22
  • Use of songs is an extremely motivating tool in
teaching a foreign language. Students are more
interested, involved and motivated when taught
through songs. The action research will deal with
integration of songs for language acquisition in
    the English class.

23
Forming Questions in the EFL Classroom By
Liron Eyal
24
  • Difficulties in formulating questions in the EFL
classroom leads to the need to find creative
solutions. The action research focuses on social
interaction as a tool for effective development
    of question formation.

25
Grammar in Context By Dana Barr and Irit
Goldshtein
26
  • Grammar in context includes teaching grammar
through songs, short passages and stories instead
    of rote-memory grammar exercises.
  • This method raises students interest and ability
    to internalize the material taught.

27
"Beginning Reading for Weak Pupils in the Junior
High School - Combining Phonics and Whole
Language" By Shamaim Paz
28
Learning to read in a new language is a difficult
process, especially for weak learners, who have
problems in their own native language. Problems
breaking the code of new language puts students
under pressure and causes frustration. In the
past, teachers taught either by the whole
language approach or by phonics. Neither were
successful as separate entities. Combining both
methods increases the students positive attitude
and rate of success.
29
Final Thoughts...
It was a long and difficult process.
Action Research contributes to my teaching
development
We can make a change!!!

Here We Are Here we are in the center of town,
look! Everybody is here again We are
shopping They are walking We are eating They are
talking We are here in the center of town We went
to the circus, we had popcorn And we saw the
clown and we heard a big band The lions came in
and they sat on the sand Now we're here in the
center again I wrote down the order for the
cook I sat in a chair and read a book He stood by
the door I swept up the floor And I went to four
more stores Here we are in the center of town,
look! Everybody is here again They are
shopping We are walking They are eating We are
talking We are here in the center of town
