though it may tarry do not stop. For surely it
will come to pass.

28Presentation Outline
- Open with LA Olympic Story
- Habakkuk 22
- Luke 14 a table for all
- Background met with lay leaders, parents,
volunteers - Worked a proven process to discover Gods will
and direction for the ministr - Show plan
29At the Seattle Special Olympics, nine
contestants, all physically or mentally disabled,
assembled at the starting line for the 100-yard
dash. At the gun, they all started out, not
exactly in a dash, but with relish to run the
race to the finish and win. All, that is, except
one little boy who stumbled on the asphalt,
tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry.
The other eight heard the boy cry. They slowed
down and looked back. Then they all turned around
and went back......every one of them. One girl
with Down's Syndrome bent down and kissed him and
said, "This will make it better." Then all nine
linked arms and walked together to the finish
line. Everyone in the stadium stood, and the
cheering went on for several minutes. People who
were there are still telling the story.
30If this story were entirely true what a perfect
picture it would be of how the church should
act. The facts are that only two of the other
nine racers stopped to help the fallen one. I am
sure we like to think that we would be one of
those who stopped and helped. What are we
really doing with those who are falling around us
everyday? Are we as the body of Christ going to
stop and help those who have fallen? And if not
us who will?
