Chinese Bauxite Demand
Aggressive expansion in Chinese alumina refining
capacity over the last few years resulted in an
unprecedented increase in Chinese demand for
imported bauxite. In 2006 China became the
worlds largest Aluminium producer and consumer.

Chinese Dependence on Imported Bauxite
In 6 years Chinas Aluminium output rose from
3Mtpa to 12Mtpa. Alumina imports grew 3.3
Mtpa to 5 Mtpa. Bauxite imports (25 Mt) in 2007
provided a third of alumina/aluminum raw bauxite
needs.
By 2017 additional 130Mt pa of bauxite required.

Cape Alumina Tenements and Regional Potential
Pisolite Hills is our most advanced project.
Regional potential for 300 Mt of bauxite.
  • Pisolite Hills
  • Contains the largest Australian independently
owned JORC resource of 130 Mt of in situ bauxite
  • Anticipated production of 7 Mtpa of beneficiated
    bauxite commencing in 2013/14
  • Strong land position
  • Six additional project 2,400 km2 of the
    tenements YET TO BE DRILLED
  • Note that the potential quantity and grade is
conceptual in nature, that there has been
insufficient information to define a mineral
resource at outside Pisolite Hills and it is
uncertain if further exploration will result in
the determination of a mineral resource in these
    areas.
  • 130 Mt in situ to yield 86.1Mt (20.1Mt
Measured 37.9Mt Indicated 28Mt Inferred) _at_
    Avg grade 53.1 Al2O3 (41.5 THA 7.5 Reactive
    SiO2). Beneficiated dry product basis

17
18
Pisolite Hills Mine and Port Layout
Pisolite Hills will, if developed, support an
export operation of 7Mtpa (dry bauxite) per year
over an initial 12-15 year mine life, with scope
for expansion.
