FACTS
Jupiter is 484 million miles from the sun.
Jupiters diameter is 88,733 miles from one side
of the planet to the other side of the planet.
Jupiters rotation takes less than ten hours.
Thats the fastest rotation out of all the
planets. However, Jupiters revolution takes
11.86 Earth years to equal one year on Jupiter.

Surroundings
Jupiter has very toxic gases that could kill a
person in a second, even if theyre wearing a
spacesuit. Jupiters temperature is -292? F. It
is so cold on Jupiter because it is the fifth
planet from the sun. Jupiters atmosphere is
mostly hydrogen and gas with brightly colored
clouds. Jupiter has sixteen moons circling it.
One of the moons is Adrastea. It was discovered
by Mr. Danielson and Mr. Jewit in 1979. Jupiter
has one ring, although Jupiters ring is fainter
than Saturns rings. Jupiters ring was
discovered by Voyager 1 in 1979.
4
HISTORY
Jupiter got its name from the Roman gods. The
first spacecrafts to land on Jupiter were Pioneer
10 and 11 in 1973, followed by Voyager 1 and 2.

Interesting Facts
Jupiter is the biggest planet in the solar
system. Jupiter has a red spot 3 times the size
of Earth. 1,300 Earths could fit inside Jupiter.
The inner ring is Amalthea Gossamer. It extends
from the orbit of Amalthea (Jupiters moon) to
the orbit of Amalthea (another moon), a total
distance of 112,000 miles from Jupiters center.
