Fire
  • Fire/Smoke visible or Alarms activated
  • Evacuate- use closest/ safest stairwell (no
    elevators)
  • Close doors as you exit
  • If too much smoke, stay low to the ground
  • Use a fire extinguisher only if you feel it is
    safe
  • Proceed to pre-designated assembly area

Power Outage
  • Assess the extent of the outage and ensure it is
    reported to DPS at 323-442-1000
  • Using a flashlight, walk the floors to determine
    if everyone is ok. Check for elevator entrapment
  • Shut down electrical equipment and check sub-zero
    freezers to ensure they are on back-up power

  • BEWARE OF FALLING OBJECTS Drop, Cover, and Hold
    On
  • Dont panic and run. Take shelter under a sturdy
    table, or near an interior wall away from windows
    and heavy objects.
  • If you are outside, stay there, moving into an
    open area away from buildings.

  • Carefully get up and observe your area for
    injuries, critical damage, gas leak, spills, etc.
  • Evacuate if building integrity appears
    compromised, fire, smoke, chemical spills, leaks
    or any other hazards
  • Prepare for aftershocks
